A new National Journal survey of Republican insiders finds that 57 percent of these political professionals think Donald Trump will bow out of the Presidential race before the Iowa Caucuses. This survey probably says more about the state of the Republican political class than anything about the 2016 race or Republican voters.
Interestingly, 65 percent of Democrat insiders believe Trump will compete in the Iowa Caucuses in February next year.
The survey results could easily be dismissed as both groups answering what they hope will happen. Some Republican campaign professionals offered comments beyond the question:
No meteor or political candidate burns that brightly and survives very long.
Unscripted, he will crash and burn by Thanksgiving.
Flavor of the month.
Campaign will probably die of a self-inflicted wound.
The easiest political prediction to make is that the Trump campaign will implode after some impolitic remark. To date, though, that hasnt been the case, despite a full-throttled assault by the media and DCs political class.
Trump currently leads all national polling in the race. His lead has apparently increased even after he made off-the-cuff remarks criticizing Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)43% s war record. That he has gained support after those remarks should be a sobering wake-up call to the political class.
Peggy Noonan, the Republican establishments Greek chorus, has woken up to the realization that the Trump phenomenon and it is exactly that is real. She understands something the political class doesnt:
His rise is not due to his supporters anger at government. It is a gesture of contempt for government, for the men and women in Congress, the White House, the agencies.

The political and media elites have no answer to Trump because the only answer to Trump is principle, and they gave up all principle long ago.
Their credibility is so shot that even if they did find a principle to trot out, no one would believe them.
Folks would view them the same way they would view Bill Clinton if he suddenly started giving sermons on chastity and marital fidelity.
I would be surprised if 5-6 or more don’t drop out before Iowa (Jim Gilmore? Lindsey Graham? George Pataki? what makes these people think they stand a chance in the primaries?)
That's why I say let him have it. Use the money, time and energy to primary every 'pub who supports Boehner or McConnell. That way a President Trump will have a very conservative HOR and US Senate to work with.
I see what you did their... LOL !!!
The man is simply amazing. He has assumed he is in charge and all the wannabes look subservient to him. Wish him all the best.
Me too. Love the guy.

The GOP “Professionals” haven’t won an election in awhile and if they keep up this arrogant, elitist attitude they won’t win this either.
Frankly I am fed up with these people.
“If people wanted Cruz he would be ahead”
He will be ahead.
“However, the issues he has raised will not fade.”
Bologna. ~If~ Trump bails out the MSM and GOPe will fall all over themselves declaring the “harsh” rhetoric was not received well by the populace and a “kinder, gentler” tone will be the status quo for the rest of the election.
Certainly another possibility.
I was was pretty much resigned to keeping my head down and hopefully come out smoke and ashes when it was over. Now I feel the electricity in the air and have a hope that the Transnational Progressives agenda will be crushed. The one thing I would love to be done, is for his administraion to swing the Sherman Anti-Trust Act axe on the mediat
The people at the allergist office yesterday are all on the Trump train, as well as the people I spoke to at the paint store.
If the McCain thing didn’t knock him out, I’m not sure what else will. Except voters. And so far that is looking good.
What actions haven’t been in the media for years?
You are a funny joker(ette).
Trump is mowing everyone down because he knows who he is and has a very, very, very strong sense of purpose in life. He has an unwavering sense of his purpose and a sense of his role in these historic times. Doors naturally open up for him in a big way because of this sense of purpose.
The other candidates are watered down and have a very thin sense of life purpose. They are all confused and they do not know who they are and that is why they cannot overcome Trump. They all do polls to know what to say and their core purpose in life does not exist.
That is where we are. If Trump stays true to himself he will win it all. If he gets embroiled in the ego trappings he will be like all the other candidates.
Let’s see what happens.
And that's what gets the "insiders'" panties all in a twist - they don't mind us being angry because we have shown that we stomp our feet but don't do anything so it makes them feel powerful. Contempt upsets them - they think it's their job to be contemptuous of us....
