Mitt Romney defends Obama while attacking Ted Cruz
The Strident Conservative ^ | July 31, 2015 | David Leach

Posted on 07/31/2015 9:08:23 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

On Tuesday, Senator and presidential candidate Ted Cruz (R-TX) had this to say about Obama’s deal with Iran:

“If this deal is consummated, it will make the Obama administration the world’s leading financier of radical Islamic terrorism. Billions of dollars under the control of this administration will flow into the hands of jihadists who will use that money to murder Americans, to murder Israelis, to murder Europeans.”

Not much to argue about, right? So you’d think a “severe conservative” like Mitt Romney would support Cruz for taking a strong conservative stand against the nuclear ambitions of a terrorist nation.

Well… while the former Republican presidential candidate says he’s opposed to the Iran deal, he is attacking the current presidential candidate for his criticism of the agreement.

I am opposed to the Iran deal, but @SenTedCruz is way over the line on the Obama terrorism charge. Hurts the cause.

— Mitt Romney (@MittRomney) July 30, 2015

Maybe Mittens should spend a few of his millions to buy a clue.

In a recent CNN interview, National Security Adviser Susan Rice admitted the Obama deal will give Iran access to up to $150 billion to spend as it wishes and would do nothing to stop the Islamic Republic from sending windfalls to its terrorist comrades in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and throughout the Middle East, North Africa and perhaps even the Americas.

Of course, attacking Conservatives is nothing new for Romney as we witnessed during the 2014 mid-term elections when he campaigned extensively against T.E.A. Party and other conservative Republicans. He also expressed support for fellow Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame member Chris Christie for president, saying that the New Jersey governor could “save our party” because of his ability to reach across the aisle and act like—I’m sorry, work with—the Democrats.

Romney, just like McCain before him, continues to prove that there’s a difference between saying you’re a Conservative and actually being one. As for his criticism of Cruz is concerned, Ted should consider that an endorsement.

By the way, Ted has already responded to Romney’s comments, saying that it proves why he “got clobbered” by Obama in 2012.

Well said, Mr. Cruz. Well said.

No he isn’t. Read Trump’s book “Time to Get Tough” and then get back to us about that “less and less coherent sense” part you wrote above.

Yea NathanBedford!

Who you going to believe?

Your lying Eyes and Ears, or some book?!

Like anyone is interested in hearing from the guy who ...

lost his one bid for the US Senate in 1992,

lost to the guy who lost to Obama in 2008,

lost to Obama in 2012,

only won one election and that was for governor of Massachusetts in 2002.

Trump is still making headlines, and he isn’t even in the US today. He’s in Scotland.

Trump got to the head of the line by saying initially what needed to be said about immigration. But true to what I predicted, and of course I was not alone, Trump has begun to confound us all by talking out of both sides of his mouth. I have read and reread his latest about whom he is going to locate, deport and then let back in and it makes no coherent sense. It is not the kind of thinking upon which we can make policy. It is incoherent blather.

You read Ted Cruz's book.

The major loser Mr. Magic Underpants burbles the globalist response to Ted Cruz.

IMHO, Willard couldn't carry Ted's jockstrap (to paraphrase Larry Holmes).

Yea, that's all that's important, right?

That's what we are looking for in POTUS candidates, the ability to make headlines, right?

Well Mitt....

You were the very last “hold your nose” Republican to ever have garnered my support, (if only to prevent Obama’s second term)

I was what they called a “Broken Glass Republican”. One who would crawl over broken glass to vote a straight ticket.

But no more! I became convinced that what the GOP was doing was corrupt.

So now you attack my candidate...Oh what a joke that is and it totally justifies my decision to no longer support just any GOP candidate.

I left my broken glass in the trashcan on my way out of the GOP tent.

Only some of them. Don’t panic. Trump has already said that he supports amnesty for the “good” illegal lawbreakers! If he started out saying that, he’d have little support now.

Romney at least is one of the few who recognizes Russia as the increasing threat that they are. He should be making the connections here between the "Deal" and Russia.

It is called name recognition.

That is why Hillary and Jeb and The Donald are getting most of the media attention.

Notice where Cruz (I like him) is polling — in the 4-6% range.

Of course, it is still early and most voters won’t even begin to start paying attention until their state primaries.

I think they will start paying attention starting with
Thursday’s debate. Trump has amped up the interest.
That works to the benefit of all the candidates.
