Real-estate developer Donald Trump said Tuesday evening that he wasn't worried about the coming Republican presidential primary debate.
When CNN anchor Don Lemon asked Trump whether he was ready for the first rhetorical bout with his GOP rivals, he said he didn't know.
"I have absolutely no idea how to answer that question," Trump told Lemon. "I am me. I don't have pollsters. I mean, I have a lot of money — much more money than all of them put together and all of their phony contributions put together. But, you have to understand, I want to be me."

I believe that 09/11/2001 had an impact on jobs. I’m not convinced it should have had this significant an impact. And to buttress that belief, note that the jobs didn’t rebound in Bush’s second term.
As the economy picked up speed after 09/11/2001, jobs should have rebounded. Even in Bush’s second term, that didn’t happen. Then the lending fiasco hit, and there was another problem to deal with. Obama’s first term was a not growth period as well. (very little)
During the three terms we should have seen about 28.5% growth.
That’s a massive number of jobs, on the order of 40 million of them.
I believe that trade with China, NAFTA, and outsourcing were the key factors in sustained non-growth. Then there’s the issue of 30 million illegals in country competing for jobs. These would not generally be high paying jobs, but they unquestionably affect the number of U. S. Citizens who hold down jobs.
I believe 09/11/2001 and the lending meltdown in 2008 were significant enough events that we have to attribute job loss to them, and even significant job losses. Where I find weakness in attributing all our problems to them during this 12 year period, is that the jobs just didn’t rebound during recovery.
I’ve worked up the numbers through 2013. I need to go back in and check out growth this term under Obama. That should reveal some things. If there has been significant rebound, it might reveal less impact from the issues I accredited with negative impact.
If we’re still seeing sluggish grown, it will be undeniable that those are the main factors. IMO
Whether Trump ends up the nominee or not, I have no idea.
The service he is performing, however, carries immense value. He's demonstrating what it looks like to have cojones and be on the right. In short, he's rendering backboned conservatism again socially acceptable after a LOOONG hiatus...

Disagree. Romney tried to hide from his wealth and look where it got him. A coward on ANY subject is still a coward. Trump is right out front with EVERYTHING.
I think he would probably need to brush up just a little on foreign policy-just to be prepared. It can be tricky even for the smartest and wealthiest candidates. He’s got the rest down.

He has succeeded in one of the most brutal businesses and it was not by being uninformed and shooting from the hip.
Trump is a master strategist. He is banking on the idea that people believe he is a clown and that his $10 billion fortune just fell in his lap. Imagine that people want to believe he is an idiot who won the lottery and nothing more.
Trump wants to be underestimated. That gives him the time to take over completely. He wants people to think he is a talentless doofus who is so lucky that billions fall from the sky but he really does nothing for it.
An enemy that is underestimated is usually the one who wins the biggest. Trump is laughing right now. He did not think it would be so easy!
Trump should just ask them why they didn’t find out what BO was doing in 1989
and why they didn’t bother to find out. Just come back at them with their total lack of BO vetting and ignore their accusations until BO shows his background.
When it comes to specific nations, there are always cultural things to know when dealing with them. I agree with that.
I will also say that regional and global arrangements need to be studied to know the full dynamics.
There is a basic instinct about what is good for the nation though, and one mustn’t know everything to remain within the proper parameters.
He addressed the deal with Iran and was surprisingly informed about it. He pointed out several issues with it, and even touched on the issues of our hostages.
Some people don’t go entirely negative. He did say he thinks the Iranians were good negotiators and ours were terrible.
Nobody knows everything, so I agree you need to surround yourself with solid people. They will help fill in the gaps.
They'll ask policy questions but they're only designed to make the candidates look stupid.
If they ask a foreign policy questions it's easy: We're not the President yet and it's over a year until I will be so any specific questions HAVE to be based on principles...and these are my principle. Same things with domestic issues.

Who is moderating this debate? I wonder if they are will be a little intimidated to come down too hard on Trump given his talent in calling out their failures when he is dissed. Ha Ha! I would have loved to see him take down Candy.
Trumps open references to his wealth doesn’t bother me as much as the behind the scenes/curtain spilling out and gathering of money by very many other political money harvesters. The taste of Trump’s remarks is sweet talk compared to the vile taste of so many of the politicals chasing him.
I don’t know who will be moderating, but I would have loved to see him call Candy on exactly what she was doing.
Trump may be simply lowering bar of expectations.
Have you ever come across any successful (meaning huge size) businessman who goes into any meeting unprepared?
But do not expect Trump to be wonkish. He is a leader and a delegater, not a micro-manger and professional politician.

No one is doubting Trump's intelligence and if he tries to stuff his brain with facts and figures, he will not be able to utilize his greatest strengths. Trump only needs to speak in general terms and he only needs to continue to express the frustrations that many people feel about a few important issues. He needs to reinforce the impression that he has a long history of successfully confronting complicated problems and that he has the independence to find solutions without worrying about what financial supporters might think. People are looking for a capable, independent leader.
This is in response to the Koch Bros. shutting him out of everything because he won’t swear allegiance to their agenda.
They cut Trump out of important voter data he needs and won’t let him speak to powerful activists in the party. They will allow Bush, Cruz, Walker and another one in. No to Trump.
Koch Bros. are open borders, globalist guys and they are a big part of making the two parties the same on. They are against the issues that matter to most Americans; especially conservatives on all social issues. They are libertarians.
The Donald should throw a big party for the delgates/activists who are going to the Koch events and talk to them there. Before or after the Koch events - but don’t say when until it’s too late for the Koch Bros. to make adjustments.
Donald wants the voter data they have and as I recall that data planning lost the election for Romney though bad coordination with get-out-the-vote activists. The GOP is a hurting organization with advisors and contractors like Rove...
Donald may be saying a lot of the right stuff.....but hes also been known to say some really lame stuff as well.
