ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia — President Obama asserted on Tuesday that he could win a third term if allowed by the Constitution, but said he was looking forward to life after the presidency, when he will be able to take a walk and spend more time with his family.
As he wrapped up what may be his final trip to Africa while in office, Mr. Obama took aim at some of the continent’s gerontocracy and called on long-entrenched leaders to step down, declaring that “nobody should be president for life.” But it led to an off-the-cuff riff about his own improved political standing and his future.
“I actually think I’m a pretty good president,” Mr. Obama said, departing from his prepared text in a speech at the African Union. “I think if I ran, I could win.”
“There’s a lot that I’d like to do to keep America moving,” he added. “But the law is the law,” he said, “and no person is above the law, not even the president.”
The comments reflect a bitter issue in Africa: the attempts by some leaders to hold onto power well beyond their terms expire. Just this month, the president of Burundi pushed through with elections that gave him a third term in office, throwing his nation into upheaval in a move widely regarded as violating the country’s constitution and a peace agreement that ended a devastating civil war....

Their conduct has been no different than the politicians put in office during the Post Civil War Reconstruction period. Millions in tax payer funds spent for personal pleasure. If we were a real people these creatures would spend time in jail and be required to repay the taxpayer. However, the mere fact the American people elected this clown TWICE indicates we no longer constitute “A People.” We are a mere disintegrated demographic lacking real leaders.

Yes, they would. The American people have been conditioned for years to accept whatever the government tells them is in their best interest. And no matter how many more of “us” there are, most will not fight the government.
Also, the military is trained to obey the orders of their superiors without question, and most, if not all, will back an Obama takeover because most of those superiors who would have resisted have been replaced. If you’ve ever been in the military, you know that no individual is going to buck the system even if he/she knows it’s wrong.
This is a trial balloon by Buckwheat to see which way the political winds are blowing. Lots of big talk was done before his first election, as much again at his second, but nothing was done and no one is willing to be the first sacrifice on the alter of freedom. Obama could take over tonight and NOTHING will happen to stop him. If anyone were willing to try, they would already have done so. The American people and those who once would have stood up to tyranny have been completely emasculated.
I agree that if he wanted it, it could easily happen.
But he’s ready to collect those huge POTUS pardons, get on the speaking circuit, and make the Clinton Global Initiative look like pocket money.
The Mob can accomplish the same end results by putting in a Baraq 2.0. So far they haven’t rolled him/her out yet. Perhaps they even have a stand-off agreement with the Clintons.
Actually, the law is whatever the head of the strongest faction with the stones to impose their will by violence or else and win says it is.
