After a gunman opened fire in a Lafayette, Louisiana movie theater last week, killing two people and injuring nine others, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is pushing back against repeated calls to strengthen gun control legislation.
"These are sick people," Trump said of the shooter, John Russell Houser, who was reported to be mentally ill. "This has nothing to do with guns. This has to do with the mentality of these people."
"I'm a big Second Amendment person. You need protection," the presidential hopeful added in a CNN interview Sunday. "This person from what I hear had a record of mental instability. If it's proven and documented you have to be careful to not let them kill people. He had the kind of record where he should be in an institution. He's a sick puppy."
Trump referenced another recent gun massacre in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where four Marines were killed, to argue against increasing gun control measures.
"With the Marines, that was disgraceful," Trump said. "These are people who know how to use guns better than anybody. And they're not allowed to carry guns, and this guy shot them...If they would have had their guns, they probably would all be alive right now."(continued)

I see Leftists doing that a lot. < not >
Thank you!!!!!!
And I’ll kick in $5.
I would do the other 10, but others might want to get in on this too. This will give them a chance.
Yup. Trump is reading my “Stuff the pisses me off list.” and I am loving it!
I know he’s not good at it.
I kicked his ass from one side of the thread to the other a while back.
He got so mad he banned me from ever posting to him again.
Bet you can’t claim that!
Reagan signed an abortion law at about 59 years old as CA governor.
but until you can prove he said something different in the meantime, the LAST operative statement we had was the 2000 book.
Which is to miss the point - that he’s all over the place. THAT HES ALL OVER THE PLACE.
And this weekend, yes, yesterday, he attacked W and Scott Walker form the liberal point of view. Try and defend that fan boi.
the media is the enemy not guns not even psychos. what chance do you or I have of being a victim of a mass shooter ? 1 in a billion as they are so rare events. people don't realize that this is a country of 330 million people were trillions of events happen every day. that people don't see that the media is cherry picking 1 out of those trillion events time and time again to take away our freedom is a huge problem. why do people believe the news is news and the media?
so we shouldn't be talking or thinking about such rare events as they are not relevant but instead real problems like what Obama is doing , the government crimes and waste , the economy etc. And these events would be even rarer if the media didn't give them so much publicity. the media are doing it for many reasons but think about a sick loser sees this over and over and over again that is what a sick loner is supposed to do according to the media. where do they get the planning and ideas. the media gives them all the planning and info and egging on to do it
link? Proof? And so what? I know where you’re going, but only the feeble minded can’t see the many inherent flaws in the Trump Reagan analogy. Please don’t go there. You’ll embarrass yourself
150,000 people die from accidents injuries etc. in the USA every year. how many from these media mass shooters that the media eggs on? less than 100 i’d say. So the media is not talking about the other causes of death only 1 . why don’t people see what the media is doing?

Others can ignore Trump's past, and had it been past from decades ago I might be able to as well. But his negative past has been rather recent
Ted Cruz is the standout for me at this point, and has been for awhile now. I gave Walker some serious consideration, but I don't think he is as good as Cruz.
I would vote for Walker though if he won the nomination. Probably would vote for Trump too if he won the nomination, because I will always vote for the lesser of the two evils. Some say, well then you are still voting for evil, but the reality is evil is present in all of mankind. It's just the degree of evil they possess, and the amount of damage they will do.
LOL...Use to have a neighbors who's wife was always telling him never to speak to her again. Why am I not surprised?
Most these people running around here hating Trump likely employee illegals and depend on their greedy endless flow of low wage illegal labor for their stinko profits. No joke
Thanks for the additional comments.
I agree with your comments. I have withheld votes from Bush and McCain.
I will never vote for a man anywhere near as dirty as McCain. NEVER
As for Cruz, I like the guy too. His comments don’t get as much play as Trump, even when he says the same things. For this reason I have to question if he can win the nomination.
Then also, it bothered me when he said he didn’t back the current trade bill, and then voted for support legislation.
I’m sorry, if I’m against something I don’t take any action that brings it closer to taking place. I avoid it any way I can. So this causes me to think he’s not shooting straight with people like me.
That bothers me a lot.
As much as I dislike McConnell and like that Cruz took him to the woodshed, I would never have voted for the bill in question. McConnell couldn’t have said anything to make me do it.
They can't be found because there's no reason to have a bunch of statements. As a business man, no one bothered to stop him and ask him about his view on gun control every year. (Imagine the Fox Business channel grilling him on the 2nd amendment.)
There's nothing all over the place about having a view 15 years ago (that's pre-9/11) and waking up subsequently.
Im reading Trumps books . Hes amazing.

“Think Like A Champion” is great. I bought an extra copy for my dad and he loves it.
Anything to discredit Trump. This was all predicted that night of his announcement speech.
I voted for GW Bush in his first election in like 2000...Would I ever vote for another Bush again?
Of course not.
These people running around saying, “Well Trump said this 5 years ago and he said that 15 years ago” is just convoluted deceit.
I love that
