A day after Donald Trump announced the formation of Veterans For Trump, a small New Hampshire-based coalition that supports the bellicose business moguls bid for the White House, at least two of the veterans named as supporters distanced themselves from team Trump. The announcement of the veterans group came five days after Trump said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is only considered a war hero because he was captured by the enemy during the Vietnam War.
I dont know anything about it, said Ernie Fusi, a World War II veteran whose name was still listed among the 51 veteran supporters on Trumps campaign website on Saturday.
In a report published Friday by the Guardian, the 88-year-old resident of Atkinson, New Hampshire, said he never mentioned to anyone that he supported the New York billionaire. Fusi said he's abstaining from the Republican primary vote but that he would vote for whichever candidate emerges as the Republican nominee at the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland next July.
Donald Richards, a veteran based in Laconia, New Hampshire, and his wife Connie were also named as supporters, but Richards, who is president of a local parks association, said the only connection he has to the candidate is that Trump paid his group to rent a community center for a July 17 event.

Go blow that smoke somewhere else, it’s nonsense.
I dont know anything about it,
“Well Ernie, thank you for your service”
I dont know anything about it,
Back to the thread YOU link to into your OP of this thread and look at your exchange with Guenevere and tell me it’s “smoke” and nonsense.
Frankly, you need a primer on manners.
Thank you gaffer. Well said.
I see. I’m the rude one.
Got it.
I agree.
For all of those who say how GREAT a business man Trump is and that he couldn’t make stuff up and be successful..
Or for those who say, Oh, Trump couldn’t do things like this because he is so smart...
Well, this proves that Trump supporters have some explaining to do. Either the Veterans are lying (doubtful) or Trump lied/messed up.
Either way, not good.

I am not a Trump supporter - I’m looking very closely at Cruz who I really like. But as a NYer, I have been a Trump watcher for 40 years and I pretty much know who he is. You can’t not read Liz Smith and Cindy Adams, the Observer, the Times & the Post without not getting to know The Donald. He’s pretty much an open book. Some stuff is good, some not so good.
I also want to make it clear that Mrs. Cincinatus is a long time Perry supporter. She appears to be doing that again - so remember she has an agenda. She will post articles against all the candidates who bump up against her beloved bespectacled boob.
It’s apparent you aren’t going to vote for him, so, why do you care?
Good grief.
You don’t even know who I support but you feel free to define me.
Get a clue.
So who do you support? You’re a world famous Perrybot around here.
I can't comment on Trump because I'm not going to vote for him?
Is that your position?
“The article also states that the Trump campaign has written confirmation from all those who signed.”
I see the Trump people are right on top of things. Who would’ve thought it would be necessary to get someone’s support in writing? But with frauds like McCain, you can never be too careful.
The Donald didn’t get to be a billionaire by being a Pollyanna, that’s for sure.
I think with Trump - what you see, is what you get. I’ve watched him for many, many years too, and you are right - his life is an open book.
I support Gov Walker.
Where’s the picture of Donald with President Reagan? Hurry, produce it.
Well! That’s certainly news. Hear ye, hear ye! Giving up on your boy, huh? Too big a mouthful of dead sea fruit even for you??
It’s apparent you don’t know the difference between commenting and negativity. I’ll leave that up to you to buy yourself a clue this morning. Hey, I’m just having fun - I don’t have a pony in this race yet, but, I’m watching a few of them. However, if you want to keep tearing the other candidates down, in hopes of pumping yours up - then I will go rogue and vote for the opposite person you endorse. That’s the way most of us are. Personally, I think I’ll vote for “The Rent’s Too Damn High,” candidate. Hope he’s running again.
