AMERICAN PEOPLE ELECTED A REPUBLICAN MAJORITY BELIEVING IT WOULD SOMEHOW BE DIFFERENT FROM A DEMOCRATIC ONE
WASHINGTON, D.C. After speaking on the Senate floor today, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) issued the following statement:
Weve just seen something extraordinary on the Senate floor. The American people elected a Republican majority believing that a Republican majority would be somehow different from a Democratic majority in the United States Senate. Unfortunately, the way the current Senate operates, there is one party, the Washington party.
Senate leadership consists of the McConnell-Reid leadership team. They operate as a team. They support the same priorities. If you look at what has occurred in the United States Senate since the Republicans took a majority, we immediately returned after winning a historic majority to pass a trillion dollar cromnibus bill filled with corporate welfare and pork. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to fund Obamacare. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to fund President Obamas unconstitutional executive amnesty. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to confirm Loretta Lynch as attorney general. Then, just moments ago, the so-called Republican majority voted to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, an egregious example of cronyism and corporate welfare.
Every one of those is the priority of the Democratic leader Harry Reid

Doesn't get much more clear than that.
Are others concerned such as I that the Cruz Trump visit a week ago had something to do with running as a third party?
Trump may just be our last call for Change, I'm willing to give him that chance, nothing to lose as we are losing it anyway. I do support Cruz in the mix as well, preferable #1, BUT.........I'll be content with either.
the lessor evil.

Both Trump and Rudy would move the party to the right ... just not on every issue, like Ted Cruz will.
Unless Cruz (or possibly Walker) wins the nomination ... we are COMPELLED to launch a third party to oppose the one-party DC cartel.
goes to show doesn’t matter whether we send D’s or R’s. They are all owned by K Street.
I support Cruz but he seems to be all alone, him and Mike Lee.
Cruz wins, again ... ping
Leaders sometimes have to stand alone.
Ronaldus M used to say he would go over the heads of the establishment, directly to the American people.

Cruz and Trump had a meeting last week. I don’t doubt that you are exactly right. Trump is getting the true issues on the table in a loud clear voice, and later Cruz will come in and clean up. Remember 2004, when Bush and Kerry, those two old Skull & Bones cronys, embargoed any discussion of illegal aliens and migration in their debates? It just never came up. I remember.
The thing is, I believe Cruz’s only chance is to for now ride Trump’s coattails. Trump will fade, there’s just too much out there, but for now, let him have his time.
You have hit it on the nose. It is a solid strategy.
Also, I’ve seen him operate here in Texas. I’ve seen him go from 5% in the polls to 15% to 25% to forcing a runoff with David Dewhurst and then kicking his ass. Sen. Cruz is just getting started.
