The article is true. The illegal alien parents don’t have proper ID for Texas to know who they are. Before a birth certificate can be issued, the parents have to be properly identified to prove they are who they say they are. Each father could say he is Donald Trump and there is no way for Texas to know if that is true or not true. Just wander into Texas and have a kid and get a birth certificate saying you are George Carver Washington or Abraham Lincoln or Cinderella Goldenshoe, or show proper ID and get a birth certificate for the kid.
I moved to Texas about a year ago. I went with my husband to get a drivers license. I was told to bring a birth certificate, which I did. When I got to the office I was told I had to have my marriage certificate. So I went back home and got my certificate which luckily I had unpacked and went back to the office. Waited in line for an hour when I fianlly got to the counter I was told I needed to have my divorce decree with me so they could prove who I was. I went back home and got the paper and brought it back and finally got my license.
Sorry, but that doesn’t really hold up well. If you are unsure of the parents identity then the section can be left blank, or filled in as unknown or John/Jane Doe. That’s not an acceptable reason for denying a kid a birth certificate. If there is clear and unambiguous evidence that kid was born here s/he is an American citizen and entitled to a birth certificate.
I don’t like the law, but it is the law. And no state can try to effectively annul someone’s citizenship like that. There is only solution for this...
REPEAL THE BIRTRIGHT CITIZENSHIP CLAUSE!
See that very fact changes the whole contect of theargument. It wasn’t about not issuing the birth certificates alone. It was about parents not having any ID to provewho they are so a VALID birth certificate can be issued. Of course, facts don’t matter to the leftists. They just want what thwe want and if they don’t get it expect: a) social media attacks from lefties en masse, b) lawyers, and/or c) political activism.
