I love and support Pat 100%...!
Racist? That doesn’t seem fair.
I’ll be working on restoring my 1998 Suburban.
Thing cost 25K brand new.
The ones today are mostly plastic and start at 49K and run up to 70.
Pat Buchanan would have to wear a Klan suit and burn a cross on F Chuck Todd’s desk before I’d even consider watching that mess.
crooksandliars.com sure is a lefty communal outhouse. It’s like DU on steroids.
I may disagree with Pat on some important things but of the 2 books of his which I read in recent years, I am absolutely certain that he is brilliant and the nonsense about him being a racist tells me more about the writer here than I will ever need to know.
Looks like Pat and Ann Coulter are on the same page.
Pat Buchanan is NOT racist and it is a shame that he gets that label. Then again, since most liberals think anyone not sharing their viewpoint is racist and homophobic, guess we all wear that badge. Kind of worn out and meaningless any more.
He has been right on immigration and on trade. He has been a stalwart and consistent cold warrior when it counted. He was right about George HW Bush and the Reagan revolution-and he did something about it. He has warned us early on about the folly of waging war in the Middle East and he sees clearly the difference between American national interests and Israel's national interests. He has been right about America's place in the world and the dangers of overextension and overcommitment. He has been right in insisting that America's foreign policy should at least be related to America's imperishable national interests.
He has been a consistently brilliant columnist for decades eclipsing the likes of George Will and Dr. Krauthammer because he has been right where they have been wrong and equaling Mark Steyn in all things except facility with language. He understood the difference between the Republican base and the Republican establishment long before that was cool.
He appeals to my paleconservative soul.
The Left has a very low threshold for what they consider “racist” or “homophobic”.
No, that’s not fair. Pat’s an equal-opportunity annoyee.
The lefty intelligentsia never has to live with the consequences of their horrendous policies. They live in their penthouses, townhouses, and palatial estates around the country far above and fenced out from the people they claim to be helping, but see them as beneath their elite set.
It used to be that the media slammed Buchanan as an “anti-Semite”. But now that anti-Semitism by the Left is considered cool, they just brand him as racist.
Setting up the liberal straw-man 101: Why does NBC News want to show Pat Buchanan and the rise of populism???
Because Buchanan waged a populist campaign against sitting President George H.W. Bush in 1992. Now NBC News can morph Donald Trump into Pat Buchanan, then tell you Buchanan is racist and addle-brained hoping you will project this image onto Trump.
Trump has made NBC a lot of money over the years. They don’t want to start out of the gate viciously attacking him so they will construct their surrogate - Pat Buchanan - and tell you Trump is basically this year’s Pat Buchanan.
Did Hitler Want War? Read it. It's filled with historical errors. Churchill caused the holocaust? the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact never happened?
They will dredge up the populism of George Wallace no doubt.
Damn few things Pat has said over the years I disagreed with, but I admit I did not read about everything he said, and do not listen to TV news.
Pat will have the last laugh on this situation. I can hear his high pitched gloating right on, and gloat he should.
“Miss Me Yet?”
MSNBC sees it this way.
If Buchanan agrees with Trump, Trump is thus a racist.
If Buchanan doesn’t agree with Trump, it’s proof even the racist Buchanan can’t agree with Trump’s over the top comments.
Clever...
MSNBC parted ways with Buchanan in 2012
I guess the mere mention of old Pat conjures up visions of George Wallace in the minds of all liberals.
I guess that Pat has not learned that free speech and thought here in what used to be America has been banned by King Obama.
I hope all goes well.
