On 4/23/2007, Jim Robinson posted a manifesto, "Giuliani as the GOP presidential nominee would be a dagger in the heart of the conservative movement" (and a knife in the back) . The thread was subtitled, "The only difference in a Liberal Rudy Giuliani and Liberal Hillary Clinton is the fact of which bathrooms they select to use and there are some who are willing to even question that.
Thank you, ken5050. You are an honest breath of fresh air.
“Preibus is an ass for not banning him from the debates.”
You do realize, don’t you, how fascist that sounds? How GOPe? It’s like suddenly you are a different person than I thought you were. What happened?
By the way, Trump says he is against abortion, that he is pro-life. I believe with all of his children and grandchildren, he has seen the error of his earlier beliefs from years ago. Until he does something to dissuade me of his position, I choose to believe him. I have watched too many other people I have known move from pro-abortion to pro-life positions. It happens all the time and thank goodness for it.
And there I was, nodding along in agreement with you, until that moment.
You posted this nonsense. Why dont you hang around and join the
conversation on the thread you created instead of hiding.
Good point. The OP is a scared, little rabbit.
I think you need to pick up the “eat crow” phone on post # 238
No candidate is perfect, and no candidate is going to be a perfect match to our personal preferences grid.
But America loves a fighter, and I want a fighter, so give me Trump, Cruz or any combination of the two, and I am happy.
There you go....speaking my mind again. You do that often, you know that?
“Some have suggested that I should consider a third party run if I am not successful in becoming the Republican nominee. Let me be clear: while there may be some philosophical differences between myself and my fellow Republican contenders, those differences seem insignificant when comparing them to the yawning chasm between the core Republican values we share and those held by Democrats. While I believe I can be more a more effective leader, given my background and experience, than my Republican opponents, I would gladly support any one of them against any Democrat nominee because I firmly believe it is progressive, and in many cases unlawful policies, that are the root of the many significant issues facing our country today.”
Go tell that to your fellow Freepers, many of whom every other day are threatening to go third party. And I believe many of them would actually do it, or, in the alternative, and much worse, just stay home and not vote. Trump is doing a political bluff, and it will make the GOPe have to be careful just how vitriolic they get towards him, and it’s been pretty bad already.
Ahem...
Statement by the founder of Free Republic
Free Republic ^ | Jim Robinson Posted on 3/22/2004, 8:22:17 PM by Jim Robinson
I posted the following statement to our front page in response to the criticism I'm receiving lately as to not being fair and balanced and perceived mistreatment of trolls and assorted malcontents. Got news for all, I'm NOT fair and balanced. I'm biased toward God, country, family, liberty and freedom and against liberalism, socialism, anarchism, wackoism, global balonyism and any other form of tyranny. Hope this helps.
Statement by the founder of Free Republic:
In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side. Believing that the best defense is a strong offense, we (myself and those whom I'm trying to attract to FR) support the strategy of taking the fight to the enemy as opposed to allowing the enemy the luxury of conducting their attacks on us at home on their terms and on their schedule.
Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.
Free Republic is private property. It is not a government project, nor is it funded by government or taxpayer money. We are not a publicly owned entity nor are we an IRS tax-free non-profit organization. We pay all applicable taxes on our income. We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. We sell no merchandise, product or service, and we offer no subscriptions or paid memberships. We accept no paid advertising or promotions. We are funded solely by donations (non tax deductible gifts) from our readers and participants.
We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and freedom of association, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life.
Our God-given liberty and freedoms are not negotiable.
May God bless and protect our men and women in uniform fighting for our freedom and may God continue to bless America.
Jim Robinson
“Speaking of which, I did not hear Trump come out in support of Cruz, when he was getting it from all sides for his efforts to de-fund Obamacare. Who is the bigger man here? Maybe Trump does not want to de-fund Obamacare.”
Trump contributed money to Cruz’s campaign. Know what you are talking about before opening your mouth.
Trump isn't a recent convert to conservatism. Here's Freeper Amntn commenting on Donald Trumps book, Time To Get Tough:
Keep in mind he wrote this in 2011.
Chapter 1: Get Tough. Talks about the current government being weak and incompetent.
Chapter 2: We should have taken control of the oil in the Iraq war and prepaid ourselves, wounded troops and their families, and paid all medical expenses of the wounded.
Chapter 3: Tax China to save American jobs. Dont allow them to manipulate their currency and keep them from stealing our technology.
Chapter 4: Taxes. Kill the death tax, kill corporate taxes, reduce taxes on capitol gains and dividends, simply the tax code with graduating % of income. Under $30,000 1% with a max being 15% for incomes $1 million and above.
Chapter 5: Cut the spending. Cut the waste, fraud, welfare. Drug test welfare recipients, make it short term unless elderly or disabled. Put people to work which will increase tax revenue. Quit letting China and OPEC steal from us.
Chapter 6: Strengthen American Muscle. He says Your civil liberties mean nothing if you are dead. Thats why the single most important function of the government is national security.
A. American interests come first.
B. Maximum firepower and military preparedness.
C. Only go to war to win.
D. Stay loyal to your friends and suspicious of your enemies.
E. Keep the technological sword razor sharp.
F. Prepare for threats before they materialize.
G. Respect and support our present and past warriors.
That is as far as I have read so far but later chapters include immigration and repealing Obamacare.

The big question is if Trump comes out ProChoice... will Conservatives vote for him.
He has already “come out” as Pro-Life, multiple times in various interviews. Where have you been?
Mighty brave of you to post this nonsense with a hit and run.
You posted this nonsense. Why dont you hang around and join the
conversation on the thread you created instead of hiding.
Pick up the “eat crow” phone on post 238.
I doubt if you apologize.
You purists...
And there I was, nodding along in agreement with you, until that moment.
Well then I guess you will have to revise and amend your opinion, lol. Lost you by the use of a word that fits perfectly in my response. Purely yours, flaglady.
But Cruz is socking it to the leftists in our party leadership, and that is truly what has been lacking in any candidate but him and Sarah.
Trump will abandon us when it gets close to the finish line.
Why would I apologize?
He posts one more comment and then runs away again.
This Freeper does not want to have a conversation. He is a control freak
who wants to lecture. And leave the dirty work to those like you.
He is a hit and runner.
“Their recommendations helped us lose every election for the past decade.”
Bingo. C’est vrai.
I don't know where you got that definition, but it's not the way the term is used here.
The term 'purist' was originally spat at we Freepers who refused to follow the liberal pied piper known as Mitt Romney, in 2012.
We were actually accused of treason to the country, because we chose to stand by our conservative convictions when most others were being terrified into throwing theirs out the window to support the 'lesser evil'.
“Go tell that to your fellow Freepers, many of whom every other day are threatening to go third party. And I believe many of them would actually do it, or, in the alternative, and much worse, just stay home and not vote.”
Many have been doing that (voting 3rd part or not voting at all) since I have been here. This is one of the reasons we have Obama now.
“Trump is doing a political bluff, and it will make the GOPe have to be careful just how vitriolic they get towards him, and its been pretty bad already.”
If you are smart and/or perceptive enough to know it is a bluff then so is the GOP, in which case their behavior would not be modified. A bluff is only effective if the entity being bluffed believes there is sufficient probability that the bluff isn’t in fact a bluff. If you/I/anyone conclude that there is sufficient credibility behind Trump’s bluff that the GOP’s behavior would be altered, then Trump’s selfish willingness to throw the election to the democrat’s makes him unsuitable NOW to be a viable Republican candidate. Think it through.
I don’t need advice from a noobie, squishy troll like you.
