On 4/23/2007, Jim Robinson posted a manifesto, "Giuliani as the GOP presidential nominee would be a dagger in the heart of the conservative movement" (and a knife in the back) . The thread was subtitled, "The only difference in a Liberal Rudy Giuliani and Liberal Hillary Clinton is the fact of which bathrooms they select to use and there are some who are willing to even question that.
IBTZ, IBNC (in before nick caraway)
Beard the lion much?
I’ve been here fifteen years, and found myself on the opposite side of Jim’s candidate selections quite a few times.
Haven’t been banned yet.
And I saw what happened to the Rooty-rooters, and they brought it on themselves.
Because the biggest hurdle to conservative change is overcoming the gop leadership. This is a fairly new revelation to conservatives. I think after 2014 the republican base now realizes that even when we win we lose. I think there is a hope that trump will bring frank and honest conversation into washington, even if we disagree on many issues
Do you remember Senator Phil Graham? He used to be a democrat. So the fact that someone used to be a democrat is not a “killer” for me.
The abortion issue may very well be a “killer” for me.
It’s not a good time to try to institute internal jihads IMHO. That’s all I have to say about this thread and its premises.
Can’t we just talk about the illegal alien invasion a little longer?
Please.
Where is the draft Rudy website?
[Well, Im all in for Cruz, but I say, Go, Trump, GO!!]
BUMP!
I'm ascairt of both of these guys so I make a point to be on my best behavior in this forum. They do really look mean. :)
This past week was important. Trump raised the issue of sanctuary cities and congress PASSED the So-called Donald Trump Act. When is the last time this happened? Especially at the behest of a non-politician and private citizen. A candidate. Incredible.
Jeb and the rest of the RINO’s suck. Cruz or Trump are the only ones thats worth a shit and would do something positive for this country. Otherwise no need to vote as the country is probably lost anyhow.
Trump should be grandfathered forever for his comments on McCain and Graham.
I am different then a lot of people...
For me, it is more offensive that one of my own is coming up short. Rather than being for a local boy.
Which, though being from NYC, is why I wasnt for Giuliani and I am not for Trump.
Hes an awful candidate and I oppose him becoming the R nominee.
However, his CANDIDACY is wonderful. Hes making the Republicans address real issues. Hes changing the dialogue. His refreshing honesty and directness has yielded ever-increasing poll numbers, and may give a lesson to people I do support (Ted Cruz).
THIS.
“I think after 2014 the republican base now realizes that even when we win we lose.”
Final nail. You always got the feeling prior they had a plan and would spring it. There never was a plan except a plan to pay off the cronies.
Ted Cruz is on fire exposing this right now.
[When is the last time this happened? ]
TRUMP has also become a candidate Veterans Czaz. Ha.
Another big difference - Guilliani was GOPe, Donald Trump is taking a blow torch to the GOPe and its candidates.
Go, Trump (and Ted), Go!!!
Not your circus.
You said it well. Our first problem is overcoming the GOPe. And Trump is trying to do it.
Four years ago I didn’t feel GOPe was our primary problem. Now I do.
