Our country is good at reinventing itself, at trying on new clothes, as if an outfit changes the qualities and personality of the wearer.
We did it in 1910 when the Union of South Africa was birthed by the British. We did it in 1948 when our new apartheid laws turned us into the most unethically dressed nation in Africa. We did it again in 1961 when the National Party declared South Africa a republic, free from the British Commonwealth. Our newest outfit, the dress from our historic Autumn/Winter 1994 collection, is now 21 years old, and evidently in tatters.
Unfortunately, South Africa has never fundamentally changed over the years, we simply changed clothes.
The greatest problem we face as a nation is not our neo-liberal imperialist economy that favours US and British capitalist endeavours. It's not that the police criminalise and sometimes kill people for being poor or that miners, farmworkers and domestic workers are still grossly underpaid. It's not that we have an inadequate education system, which mimics the structures of colonial conquerors or that we are importing instead of producing basic foods. Our biggest problem is not even crime, South Africa.

Why didn’t South Africa simply gave existing blacks within the nation equal rights and enacted strict immigration laws? So yes, in a way, this is Whitey’s fault. If they hadn’t enacted racist Apartheid, none of what they’re experiencing now would be happening.
Actually it was a cautionary tale about open immigration; the area of South Africa was essentially uninhabited when the whites arrived. The blacks living there now arrived from other areas.
The settling of South Africa was like the settling of America in one respect. The native population of khoi-san or bushmen was reduced by new diseases originating with the invaders, in tjhis case the Dutchmen and Huguenots pushing from the south and the Bantu pushing in from the north. America had competing invaders, too, but in the north only the English provided the numbers to prevail.
The day SA started going downhill was the day power was ceded to the black majority who are taking the country on a trip to hell. Mandela was not the savior of SA....he was the destroyer.
The whites in South Africa are in a minority that uses foreign banks and secretly arms itself. This will not end well.
But not too long after having done so SA would look just like Zimbabwe (which I've never visited) as well as Kenya,Tanzania,Malawi and Zambia (which I *have* visited).
Well, now we can watch the current invasion of North America from the south and see how that goes.
So just kill off all the whites and get it over with, then. That’s what the author really wants.

South Africa in fact has their own immigration problem with people from all over Africa coming over their border, because as bad as things may be in South Africa, it’s a hundred times better than in most other African countries.

I read a South African’s blog recently who said there’s a repeated problem across European and European colonized nations.
They move in, build infrastructure, the economy blossoms. Then the locals start to flood in to work, while whites choose to become dependent upon non-Caucasian labor.
Europe has problems because it allowed a lot of Muslims in to do menial labor, and now they want to move up the ladder and the natives don’t want to do the work that is considered beneath them.
Israel bloomed under the Jews, Egyptians and Syrians and Jordanians flooded in to work in uncontrolled numbers, the menial labor galls them, so Israel has a large population of discontents who don’t fit the culture and are malcontented because they’ve been doing the less respected jobs Jews won’t do.
North America has many who won’t dig ditches and pick crops, so we imported Mexicans to do it and then enabled many more to flood in. Now we have a large underclass that is unhappy once they picked up our beliefs that menial work is beneath them and see themselves as oppressed.
The entire European Judeo-Christian culture needs to reform its view of manual labor and skilled trades, respecting it as what builds civilization. Then train the below average and average to do that work, instead of 10-20% unemployment among whites who can’t find low level jobs for liberal arts degrees that don’t require dirty hands and lots of immigrants of another ethnicity (if not religion and loyalty) doing the “dirty work” and hating you for hating the work you brought them in to do.
