Victims, gunman identified in Grand 16 shooting
The victims who died in last night's shooting at The Grand 16 have been identified as 21-year-old Mayci Breaux of Franklin and 33-year-old Jillian Johnson of Lafayette.
The shooter, who shot himself in the theater, has been identified as 58-year-old John Houser of Alabama. Police say he was a "drifter" who had been in the Lafayette area since early July. He fired 13 rounds into the theater during the 7 p.m. showing of "Trainwreck."
One of the victims and the gunman died at the scene. A second victim died at an area hospital. Nine people were injured. Two have been treated and released. One remains in critical condition.
He was staying at the Motel 6 on University Avenue. Police searched his hotel room this morning and found wigs and other disguises.
Houser drove a 1995 blue Lincoln Continental with a switched license plate to the theater and parked outside the exit door. He intended on shooting then escaping, but police believe the rapid law enforcement response forced Houser back into the building, where he shot himself.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Houser claimed that he was an entrepreneur. The profile claims he owned and operated two bars and was a real estate developer. However, his last listed job is in 2006.
In addition, a John Russell Houser from Phenix City, Alabama, is listed as a member of a group called the Tea Party Nation. However, KATC could not confirm if this John Russell Houser is one in the same with the shooter.
Police recovered a .40 caliber handgun. No explosive devices were found in his vehicle.
Police said they don't believe that Houser knew any of the victims. Houser purchased a ticket to the movie. Authorities are waiting to view the surveillance video from the theater.
The only tie Houser has to Lafayette that investigators have found is an uncle who lived in Lafayette, but died more than 30 years ago.
"This is such a senseless, tragic act. Why would you come here and do something like this?" Lafayette City-Parish President Joey Durel asked. "Two innocent people lost their lives, numerous other people were shot."
Sounds to me like a guy who lost his job in the crash and never recovered. This is a downward spiral, pure and simple.
Bingo!
Here’s why it’s odd...
The original ‘white middle class, middle aged, white conservative man’ as violent terrorist was a made up meme. Pure political manipulation.
It’s as if a PR group put out the meme that 10 year old girls were a major threat... Convinced people - then faltered when there were almost no examples of 10 year old girls being threats. What would the solution be to keep the meme going?
The first kid’s reaction - the church killer - was he ‘was suppose to kill himself’ but ran out of bullets. Odd. That kid needs to be seriously ‘debriefed’... also a black friemd of that killer went on record saying he knew his friend wasn’t racist...
If this happens again within a few months I’m going wonder about Manchurian possibilities..
The MSM will then speculate he’s a Freeper, especially MSDNC where they make up the news anyway.
If he graduated from college in 1988 and law school in 91, sounds like he should be around 48, not 59 if he went directly to college from high school.
What did he do before college? There’s at least a 10 year gap.
Doesn't matter. According to Dan Rather "it's the seriousness of the charge".
I could not tell you. I was just going by what Old Sarge posted. I trust his assessment. He would be more qualified to answer that question.
The real scandal is a nutjob who should’ve been institutionalized, but b/c of decades of leftists policies, was allowed to roam free. Also, the types & amounts of taxpayer-provided welfare the @-hole was sucking in that allowed him to move around the country, live in motels, and purchase disguises, weapons, & ammo.
For your consideration, we now have:
A 58yo WHITE MALE;
Convenient guilt-by-association ties with the Tea Party;
Found with a motel room with wigs, disguises and firearms;
Just as the regime is now going to link SSA with DHS/IRS to determine who is competent to have 2AM rights;
And just as the momentum is beginning to slack from the Charleston incident;
Oh yeah, a plan comes together...
The Watchman Ping List - FReepmail Old Sarge for details!
Here’s a more detailed story about a man from the Phenix City/Columbus, GA area by the same name:
People are reporting posts he made in all sorts of forums on the Internet.
The only thing the press is reporting is that he signed up for the TeaPartyNation. Is anyone a member to see if he posted anything there? They claim he goes by the name Rusty Houser.
Two solutions:
1. Spike the meme and manufacture another one;
2. Create perpeatrators to reinforce the meme.
Depends on which one is cheaper...
???
There are people out there who will try to drive people over the edge and the point them like a gun at some unsuspecting schmuck. My theory is that this type of thing results from inadequate screening on the part of Ivys and government agencies. It’s like the rich kids who take selfies with the homeless I think.
was arrested nearly 15 years ago for arson - @CarlaWAAY31
see original on twitter.com
was denied a pistol permit in Russell Co., Ala., in 2006, according to a county sheriff; shooter appeared to have mental health issues -
If he was arrested for arson, 15 years ago, this would explain why he doesn’t have much of a work history, but the media doesn’t seem to be checking out the 10 years between high school and college unless they have his age wrong.
“member of a group called the Tea Party Nation”
Well, there you go.
Not the same name...
The shooter had only one l in Russel...the media knows it but is running with the lie anyhow:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/corrects-police-louisiana-movie-theater-shooter-identified-as-john-russel-houser/2015/07/24/b12a0f14-3201-11e5-a879-213078d03dd3_story.html
And there ya have it the media/left finally got themselves a white shooter. They are overjoyed.
Just because someone(s) call themselves tea party doesn't mean a thing.
But media of course will completely ignore it. That is why AppyPappy said it in post #3.
