“You and me, and Leslie/Groovin’.....”
Yep, how open minded to include Leslie in this groovin’ activity, lol. Was Leslie a male or female?
I think about it “endlessly”. ;-)
Yes!!!
Gee, that’s too bad.

When I first watched MTV in High School it was all music videos and some related news. I joined the military, was stationed overseas, came back and found MTV mostly broadcasting “Spring Break” specials, “Reality Shows” such as “The Loft” and a few blocks of music videos. That’s when I quit watching.
Who needs “MTV” these days. You can get any music video you want online.
They were already jumping the shark when they put Hillary announce that if Bill and Al were elected she and Tipper would come back and dance “The Macarena.”
Silent Running - Mike and the Mechanics
But, it also killed the Rock Band as a music genre. Every no-talent hack with a video camera could get a music video on MTV.
Some of them were quite talented... But most of them sucked!
Gone were the 80’s clothes, hairstyles, music, and party attitudes. The novelty wore off quick when a gaggle of morose, flannel-clad pseudo-hippies from the Northwest dominated every minute of airtime and TV and terrestrial radio.
It doesn’t take long to tire of some whiny punk talk about how much life sucks while they’re raking in cash.

“I’m so sad and lonely!”
When I first heard about MTV I thought that they would also do some classical music and opera. Boy, was I naive.
Our neighborhood fell under a group offer when cable came to our area. We looked at the list of channels offered and I said “MTV? Hey, 24 hours of music and music videos!” My sisters gave me “that look.” A few months later they were glued to the station.
Thats where you got videos like Roly Poly Fish heads
I don’t recall what year, but I saw that on Saturday Night Live before MTV existed.
Hey, remember when SNL used to be funny?
The Count was always my favorite :)
Well yeah! I mean, he loves to count!

Good riddance.
Slime balls.
MTV didn’t die because they stopped showing videos.
They stopped showing videos because people realize “watching” music makes no sense. Especially when stupid images like mermaids in wheelchairs and medieval dancing dwarfs ruin ones own view of a song.
They wont be allowed to fail,,,
M.govtv
I vaguely remember MTV.
MTV - move toward the light...
