Donald Trumps brash and bullying style was learned at the heel of Roy Cohn, one of Americas most infamous lawyers.
They met at Le Club, a private disco on the Upper East Side frequented by Jackie Kennedy, Al Pacino, and Diana Ross, according to Trump: The Saga of Americas Most Powerful Real Estate Baron. Donald Trump, the young developer, quickly amassing a fortune in New York real estate and Roy Cohn, Americas most loathed yet socially successful defense attorney who had vaulted to infamy in the 1950s while serving as legal counsel to Sen. Joseph McCarthy.
The friendship they forged would provide the foundation for Trump's eventual presidential campaign. And in hindsight, it serves as a tool for understanding Donald Trump the Candidate, whose bumper sticker-averse declarationsundocumented Mexican immigrants are criminals and rapists; Sen. John McCain is not a war herohave both led him to the top of the Republican primary polls and mistakenly convinced many that he is a puzzle unworthy of solving. It may appear that way, but Trump isnt just spouting off insults like a malfunctioning sprinkler systemhes mimicking what he learned some 40 years ago.
A longtime friend of Trumps who was introduced to the candidate by Cohn told me its a shame that Cohns not alive to see the chaos his protégé has wrought....

Cohn’s tactics being turned on Alinsky Democrats is nothing but cosmic justice IMHO.
Has the Daily Beast ever said an unkind word about Saul Alinsky?
CORRECTION:
Roy Cohn, Americas LEFTISTS' most loathed yet socially successful defense attorney
He hated the Bush family.
Oh, I thought it was a New York thing. I’ve known a couple who basically become verbal open sewers if you oppose them or their friends.
I wonder how many times ol' Tony showed her his wiener?.................
There must have been a reason......................
“He hated the Bush family.”
Ditto that sentiment!
No, it’s pervasive.
I know some liberals that are absolutely monsters if you ever dare to repartee with them on politics...............
Last night Luntz said everytime TRUMP appears in an article or is mentioned on the news tens of thousands join his camp.
Doesn’t matter if it is good or bad
None of the others get anywhere near the coverage and it’s all free!
Trump mentioned on Twitter that he isn’t a big fan of Luntz.
Trump has vastly expanded his real estate holdings in this election, at no cost. He is living rent-free in thousands of minds of Dhimmis and ‘GOPe’ers alike.
Nor Luntz of him. But not vitriolic. Luntz mentioned he was very personable in green room.

McCarthy WAS right. With any luck, Roy Cohn imparted some of that wisdom to Mr Trump & he took it to heart.
(Trump has a lot more tact than anyone is giving him credit for. He could be pointing out that the republicans & democrats are corrupt- because it’s true. He’s playing it cool by saying they’re stupid or weak. I have have a hunch he’s one person who, if elected president, will NOT say “Let’s just move on.”)
As if we don’t need someone with the toughness of having had to deal with the mob in NYC real estate?
We have definitely had quite too much of the Bushies!
It would be interesting if Trump were to go all the way.
It would reinforce the pattern of back-and-forth political vengeance that have animated US politics since the FDR era.
Precisely. Have been pointing the same thing out. A couple of days even listed the events. The fact that Trump is not only in the public’s mind, he also is in Americans mind. This week end it was what everyone was talking about. He has America excited
