DENVER (AP) - A man who was convicted of vandalism for tearing down a barricade on federal land in Montrose County has been sentenced to one month in prison.
The Denver Post reports David Justice, a radio talk show host in Gunnison, was sentenced Tuesday for leading a group in vandalizing the Bureau of Land Management's Cushman Creek Trail on July 21, 2013. The group tore out barricades, signs, posts, fencing and cut back vegetation to protest the agency limiting the trail to two-wheel vehicles, horseback riding and hiking.

That sentence should be:
The group tore out barricades, signs, posts, fencing and cut back vegetation to protest the agency BANNING the trail to two-wheel vehicles, horseback riding and hiking.
The problem (for him) was that he talked about it.

It's almost as if he thought it was public land...
Article leaves me somewhat puzzled. The Feds limited the trail to two wheel vehicles (presumably bicycles), horseback riding, and hiking. So who can’t use the trail and what was he protesting for?

The disabled (many of them veterans) and the elderly can no longer access these areas they have been hunting in and enjoying for decades. What was he protesting? An out of control government.
It’s says a month in prison but it’s most likely a month in jail.

Anyone who attempts to defy this current tyrannical gov’t can expect to be punished, we the people have a constitutional authority to depose a tyrannical gov’t, but it appears fear of the consequences of exercising our authority, has reduced the numbers willing to stand for freedom, what these men did was righteous in defying evil, we the people are to weak and fearful to stand with the righteous, other than mumbling a few words of discontent while the fighters for freedom are sent to rot in a political prison. FEAR is killing our Free Republic as we die the death of a thousand cuts, so what about this and all the other cuts; we are not bleeding but we so bravely get our blah blah on.

These are 4x4 trails that have been there for decades. They are blocking them off all over the place.
