(CBS SF) The fault that produced a 4.0-magnitude earthquake in Fremont early Tuesday morning is expected to produce a major earthquake any day now and Bay Area residents should be prepared, a U.S. Geological Survey scientist said.
The 2:41 a.m. earthquake on the border of Fremont and Union City occurred on the Hayward Fault at a depth of 5 miles. The epicenter was at a spot just north of the intersection of Niles Canyon Road and Mission Boulevard.
The quake caused some BART delays early today while work crews checked the tracks, but appears to have caused no major damage. At least 13 smaller quakes or aftershocks have been reported near the same location as of 6:42 a.m., the largest of which was a 2.7-magnitude at 2:56 a.m.

That’s my (neophyte) understanding.
Hard to see how the 4.0 last night could trigger the fault when was so shallow.
Sell your house to a liberal and move!
You don’t want Bezerkley destroyed, all the hazelNUTS will pour out into the flyover country.
“Perhaps Governor Brown should pass a law forbidding earthquakes”
The State Senate is taking it tomorrow. It should pass with 75% of the vote.
It is a shame that most Christian denominations utterly fail to teach the Old Testament laws handed down to Eretz Ysrael back in the day. The Shemitah is part and parcel of that law, concerning debt, and other financial matters. Had they not failed to do so, more would understand what is occurring, and more importantly, why.
Yes, this current Shemitah falls on September 13, this year. I need not tell you what occurred at the last Shemitah passing seven years ago, nor the one that fell seven years before that.
And, yes, this is the seventh Shemitah in the current cycle, making next year, under Mosaic law, a Jubilee year. The last such Jubilee year was between Mid-September 1966 to Mid-September 1967. The Jubilee year before that was between Mid-September 1917 to Mid-September 1918. If the pattern holds, and it need not, I would look for the possibility of a major Jewish prophetic event to be fulfilled.
My take, buckle your seat belt, the ride's about to get even bumpier...

Take hold of yourself, man. Are you saying this is hugh?
For Israel not the Church They are two separate entities
I would tend to say yes.
Gird your loins man.
“I would hate living in an earthquake prone areaI have a real fear of them.”
I see you live in Massachusetts. I would rather live in my earthquake prone state, only a few miles away from the San Andreas fault, then live in liberal infested Massachusetts. It is far safer here. At least I do not have to see and deal with left wing dingbats on a daily basis.
Aaah, there are pockets of sanity here in MA,you just have to know where to look.
:-)
.
Stay safe,guys.

Quakenado!
The Langoliers?
The quake would only have to do a little damage as the rioting and looting by the race of professional victims would lay waste to the rest of Oakland in the aftermath. Memphis, Tennessee, would have to suffer just minor damage for those people in the majority there to riot and finish off the city.
Fourteen years ago woud've been 9-11. OK. But what was 7 years ago? oh...The Bamster getting elected?
And the economic crash that aided his rise to power.
