Yes, Donald Trump gave everyone Lindsey Graham’s real cellphone number. And he’s not sorry.

Donald Trump had Lindsey Graham's cellphone number. So now the rest of the country does, too.

Trump, the real estate mogul whose brash campaign has quickly alienated most of his primary opponents and the head of the Republican National Committee, sharpened his attacks on Graham during a campaign appearance Tuesday in the senator's home state of South Carolina, raising the volume on his criticism of his fellow 2016 presidential candidate — and broadcasting Graham's cellphone number, so others could personally do the same.

At an event here, Trump claimed that Graham called him a few years ago to ask for money and to get a reference to appear on the show “Fox and Friends.”

"I am saying to myself, 'What's this guy, a beggar?'" said Trump, before reading his number to the crowd.

We have privacy in this country? Maybe you should ask this question to George Zimmerman, or Officer Wilson of Ferguson, MO.

Zimmerman and Wilson are only public figures because the media made them public figures against their will. Graham voluntarily and knowingly became a public figure when he decided to make politics a career. Besides, his name and cell phone number are probably in the public domain already on men's room stalls at half the rest stops between Columbia and Washington DC.

I see it as Trump is not to be messed with. I like it. Remember, Lindsey called Trump a jackass. Goose, gander.

Privacy in America? LOL

Such an old-fashioned notion. The government knows everything about us. In order to email the White House you have to provide your home address and phone number. Well, it works both ways. I would love for someone to release Obama’s cell number.

Santorum was legitimate candidate in 2012. Too bad him and Newt could’nt reach a deal and one of them drops out. Those two kept splitting the votes and that cleared the path for Romney.

In 2016, I want to see new candidates and new ideas. Losers of 2012 can leave and I won’t miss any of them.

The MOR voter has no idea what a RINO is. 80% do not know who Lindsey Graham is. After all, 45 to 50% cannot name their own senators. 90% cannot name Bush 43 or Clinton’s VP. 96% cannot name 41’s VP. They are not interested in politics at anywhere the level we are.

That said, they have no interstate in a petty interparty puzzling contest. They think we are all nuts because we do care.

Trump is succeeding because he is that breath of fresh air. The same had worked on the D side. Al Franken, Paul Wellstone, etc.

The knock on Trump is that he is a weirdo. That image of a take no prisoners business bad aas works in aquisition negotiations. But is scares a lot of “civilians.”

Trump has got the right wing vote, but that’s not enough. He needs to now be seen as NOT brash or petty. This is a time to NOT need another headline.

The Donald needs to pick his battles, keep his cool, and be seem BY THE MASSES WHO ELECT PEOPLE. as side and sober, not a bomb thrower.

Bottom line: IN MANY WAYS HE CAN STOP RUNNING IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY AND MOVE TO THE GENERAL NOW. He is in the unique position of being able to defeat the other Rs in primaries by going after the the Dems NOW, in reasoned way

I love the guy. I just don’t want him to “headline” himself out of the Great Unwashed’s trust with his mouth. You never get hung for what you DON’T say.

Problem is 95% of voters don’t know about or care about petty inter-party BS.

Trump has most of our right wing vote. Now he needs the MOR vote to win the general. He needs to be seen as safe, stable, sober, a leader, not a bomb thrower. He needs to NOT be seen as 9 billion dollar bully.

The purpose of politics is to win elections.,and this won him no votes.

It’s sad how many FReepers turn out to be liberals under the skin, when you scratch a little.

It's sad how many Freepers act like sensitive little girls, when you scratch a little.

Hey buddy, this is a street fight. Throw away your fancy prancy old rules for winning elections. They don't work.

They are LIVs, not MORs. I bet Trump has more name recognition than any of the other candidates.

Trump is succeeding because he is that breath of fresh air. The same had worked on the D side. Al Franken, Paul Wellstone, etc.

Trump is a bigger than life personality. However, there is substance involved and the fact that the American people have such a low regard for the political class plays into his popularity. They believe that Trump has a better sense of what they want and feel than the politicians who have become disconnected from the voters. They are tired of the politicians who say nothing and are managed by political consultants who keep them on a short leash.

The knock on Trump is that he is a weirdo. That image of a take no prisoners business bad aas works in aquisition negotiations. But is scares a lot of “civilians.”

That's your "knock." Generally, people believe he is competent and successful. They got to know him from his TV show.

The Donald needs to pick his battles, keep his cool, and be seem BY THE MASSES WHO ELECT PEOPLE. as side and sober, not a bomb thrower.

What bombs has he thrown? Trump has been criticized by his rivals and the RNC for his "tone." This country is in serious trouble whether it is the economy, the debt, immigration, tyrannical government (IRS, EPS, NSA, Executive amnesty, etc.), national security, and a host of other challenges. People are angry and outraged, They feel powerless. Trump has been able to articulate those feelings and anger. It has shot him to the top of the polls. He has become a lightning rod for all sides including the MSM. And for the first time in a very long time there is such a thing as GOP populism. Make America great again resonates with LIVs or MORs or blue Dems.

It doesn't work that way. He must still win the primaries. McCain became the nominee with just 33% of the voters. Trump must deal with Bush and Walker. And once you are leading in the polls, you become the target of attacks. Hillary doesn't really have a challenger. She will coast in and can afford to attack the GOP, especially Trump.

I love the guy. I just don’t want him to “headline” himself out of the Great Unwashed’s trust with his mouth. You never get hung for what you DON’T say.

We will say how adept and nimble he is as the primary season starts. The team he has around him will have to avoid the pitfalls. I am not a Trump supporter, but I want to see the issues he has raised become the focal point of the elections. Immigration, jobs, trade, the economy, and national security will be front and center. The last thing the GOPe wanted was for immigration to be a major issue.

The trick is, he can win the primaries by focusing on the disaster of Obama/Hillary ,and how electing her will just mean 4 more years of the same. Given a choice between attacking other Republicans or and telling America how good they will have it under a Trump presidency, the “We can win together” wins every time for Trump.

Yes, Trump has more name recognition, but that is no guarantee of votes. There is plenty of bad name recognition. Worst ever was Nixon. On election night in 2008, 94.5 % of Americans knew who Obama was. About 70 % “liked” him.

In 1973-74, 97% of Americans knew who RMN was, and most bordered on somewhere between dislike and hate.

Yes, many agree Trump knows what they want, and even more importantly “thinks like I/we do.,” Trump must guard that and never let him been seen as the billionaire bully boy. The phone number stunt was not smart, because it did not help. Anyone who liked it already liked Trump.

He is at the point of his campaign where he must ensure he never becomes the “flavor of the month.” Remember Newt, Perry, Cain, Bauchman, Huntsman. All were the bright lights for a while, then burned out too quickly, as any overly-bright light always does. He must avoid that. The secret is like being a trial lawyer. Never say one word (in court or in public) that you do not know will have a positive effect.

The hell with graham. If he went after democrats half as hard as he went against trump after trump bailed him out with a publicity favor I’d care. I don’t. Graham is a lowlife political GOPE scumbag and needs to be run off along with the rest of the socialist traitors.

BS there is no real privacy and should be no such expectation.

to think a cell number being given out is a breach of privacy is ludicrous thinking.

Have you posted your private phone / cellphone number here, or given it to every telemarketer in the country?

Also, ask 20 woman about how they feel about the privacy of their phone numbers.

Finally, the issue is not whether or not we would object to our phone numbers being disclosed nationally.

The issue is that by doing so, Trump achieved nothing in his quest for votes. Those who approved of such a disclosure were already Trumpeters. It gained him nothing with them.

In trying to get elected, candidates must never do anything that is not guaranteed to get them votes, because in elections, nothing happens unless you win. Concepts like “right and wrong” do not count, only votes do.

Graham’s cellphone is paid for by taxpayers. Far from a private citizen’s right to privacy when they are footing the bill.

The issue is not legality. If we want candidates who claim anything that is legal is also smart, honest, moral and just, we do not need a new one. We already have the Clintons.

The issue is simple “retail” politics. In an election campaign, you will get just so many “ticks.” A single tick is each public and/or media attention/headlines because you did something.

No matter who you are, there is a limit to how many ticks you will get. Even as Obama was “loved” by the Great Unwashed, and many agreed with his misguided policies, many of his biggest supporters quickly grew tired of seeing him on TV all the time. CNN became “ALL OBAMA - - ALL THE TIME.”

(P)MSNBC had to have an Obama story to lead every newscast.

The public quickly grew very tired of it.

With that understanding, Trump has only so many “ticks.” He cannot afford to waste them on anything that does not give him good publicity. It’s not just that he has to avoid bad press; he has to not waste ticks on anything neutral, either.

In addition, each piece of coverage has to be, not only decidedly positive, but targeted at the right audience. You do not aim the same message message at Brooklyn as you do Boston. You want everyone’s vote, but the the vote-getting message for out-of-work industrial and mining workers in Scranton, who blame their problems on illegal immigration, is very different from the message delivered to Hispanic Republicans in in San Diego.

Trump needs to learn; unless you KNOW you are going to get good press from something you say; shut up. It’s not enough that it not be negative coverage and reaction/reportage.

EVERYONE WHO LIKED TRUMP’S PHONE # STUNT ALREADY LIKED TRUMP BEFORE THAT. IF YOU DIDN’T LIKE TRUMP, (OR MUCH WORSE, WERE UNDECIDED) YOU HATED IT

PS, Have you posted your cell to # online yet? Ask any woman how she would feel about having their private # on line.

bE WELL

Well Trump didn’t post a woman’s number..Oh wait...

Trump sill has lots of pull tickets in the pad. He is only getting started. The big question is which of the 14 will gain his attention next. Remember - McCain started it with “crazies”. Linda started it with “jackass”. As long as Trump is hitting them back he can go on as long as he wants. He gave Rubio and Fiorina a pass today. If they are encouraged by that and pop off again he will most likely turn his attention on them. They got a free hit, let’s see if they waste it.

No, he can’t go on!

This is not a game of sophomoric “gotcha.” This is not about “getting” other candidates. This is about, and only about, who will be the next president of the U.S.

This sort of childish BS is great for the talk shows, (and we love it) but is seen by most of the population (they vote, you know) as stupid teenage boy foolishness and name-calling..

Trump does not need to convince the American votes is tough. He needs convince them he is a reasoned leader who can inspire us all to action and renewed greatness.

He does not do that by putting Lindsey Graham’s pigtails in the inkwell!
