Any doubts Ben Carson left about his commitment to the Second Amendment stemmed from political inexperience, the famed neurosurgeon told TheBlaze.
Carson, who is among the leading Republican presidential candidates in most polls, said in 2013 shortly after the public began calling for him to run for president, that the right to own a semi-automatic weapon depended on whether someone lived in a rural or populated area.

The need to be armed is greater in urban areas.
He is a great man, a great surgeon. Probably would be a wonderful son, brother, husband & father. Probably a good member of his community & church. Just not a good candidate.
Seems as if the esteemed Carson is hoping to put 2AM on the operating table for a little cosmetic surgery...
I think this is probably more a reflections on his standing in the polls, and more importantly the status of donations to his campaign. Too little too late.
The argument about the 2nd should always begin with the question “Who has the natural right to defend themselves and their family?”
Until you answer that question, the following questions of taking that right away from citizens are moot.
“Sorry Dr. Carson. If you have to keep clairyfying your stance and readjusting the narrative about the 2nd, you ain’t the guy.”

Argument? No arguing required. :>} Maybe we need to take a page from their instructions and dismiss their “arguments” like they always dismiss ours. Except they have the governing bodies and the IPOS/LPOS/SPOS/UPOS convinced that they are right and we are not. Facts be damned.
He is correct about the political inexperience. He is completely unqualified for office.
Didn’t stop the current asshat from gettin’ in. Sadly. Twice. Twice as sad. Mofree stuff works everytime.
Couldn’t read the article without signing up. The “faux pas” about semi-autos shouldn’t be owned by those in the urban ares was not his first Second Amendment problem. Also as big if not bigger problem is his apparent belief that a person’s Constitutional rights could depend on where they live. If that were conceded to how long before other considerations would be used to “determine” your rights?
Sorry Ben but you stepped on the third rail of conservative politics.
Yes, too little, too late. Besides, that he even hinted that urban areas have less Constitutional rights, that our minority brethren have less rights under the Constitution because they live in a city, is absurd. Constitutional rights should apply equally throughout the US.
Usually you say what you mean the first time you say it - everything after that is just reacting to other’s reactions.
Waaay too mamby-pamby. A “can’t we all just get along” type.
He’s basically saying that he forgot to say “I support the 2nd amendment but...”
Then he goes on to some lies about how he was referring to mentally ill people even though there is no possible way to get that from what he said.
The guys been a Republican for basically 2 years and even though he has come to some revelations about economics, he is still politically correct, commie, social justice, cultural Marxist in the rest of his thinking.
He announced that he wanted to defend the US Constitution for us before he knew what is in it. Sorry, Dr. Carson, you're not my kinda' guy.
Cue that oldies song (Beach Boys, maybe?) "Wouldn't It Be Nice"...
Yes indeed, it would be nice, but it ani't gonna happen.
You can’t pay me to go to The Blaze.
