John McCain: "I'm not a hero and I don't want Trump's apology."

Sen. John McCain speaks out for the first time regarding comments made about him by 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump.

"The best thing to do is to put it behind us and move forward, and express our gratitude to those who served and sacrificed," Sen. John McCain told Morning Joe. "Who are the real heroes? The 55,000" men who died in Vietnam.

"Never murder a man who is in the process of committing suicide," McCain handlers told CNN Monday morning.

Oh Please....He just doesn't want us questioning the records which have been hidden until he can get his father and/or grandfathers buds to totally destroy them.

I saw the video by the vets pows. I also discovered after seeing the pics of him in casts for 20 years that they were not because of torture but because he ejected from a plane.

Just like history’s other notable hero, he WAS a hero and IS not a hero today. Just as the person credited with the capture of Fort Ticonderoga and the Battle of Saratoga, He WAS a hero then but IS not a hero today. Benedict Arnold.

Are you seriously trying to equate John McCain's record in Vietnam with all the truly heroic things Benedict Arnold did while still on our side?

His handlers want this to be forgotten asap. They underestimated Trumps resolve on the issue thinking he would cave like the pussies most of the rest of the gop candidates are.People start looking into mcnutts past with regards to the POW/MIA hearings and they are not going to like what they see.The youtube video is damning to say the least.

It is the best analogy we have to equate the WAS and IS. Both let their own continued self aggrandizement get in the way of their duty. Arnold was very instrumental in the numerous victories against the Brits but he let his own aspirations and a piece of tail (Margaret “Peggy” Shipman) get in the way of his sworn duty.

I was not there and General “Buzz” was. Although other captors have their own accounts, Buzz was a cellmate. Unless we have indisputable evidence to say otherwise, he was a hero for enduring those years. But in both accounts, what followed falls into my category of; It only takes one Oh Shiite moment to erase a boatload of atta-boys. McCain’s problem is he now has an entire fleet of those boats without a load.

A hero is somepne who knows that he’s going into a situation where he may be killed, but he does it anyway, because it’s the right thing to do. John McCain qualifies, because he flew missions over enemy territory and got shot at.

I'm sorry but your logic is faulty. He flew missions over enemy territory, but that was his job. He did his job. If he had shot down three enemy planes and saved the lives of fellow aviators, at great risk to himself, he would be a hero. But he couldn't even eject from his crippled plane as he had been trained. What a dufus.

Barf,
Oh i am so humble and a victim card is not working for this notorious evil petty gold digger.

Watching this vile hate filled lib snake still trying to milk this situation tells us the Elites in DC hatched this scam very carefully to destroy Trump but it back fired Badly so they are desperate to keep the story alive but its already passed.

At this point, it simply sounds like he (Trump) is trolling.

Agree. He is showing conservatives America's hot-buttons, and I am thankful someone is and hope conservatives hear it loud and clear, but I do not trust that he is conservative at heart.

McCain had better hope everyone forgets this. Otherwise the truth about his real record will come out and it won’t be good for McCain.

The comparison with Benedict Arnold is close except Arnold was a real war hero and the Revolution was really a civil war. I think Arnold betrayed the Colonials, but was not, in a real sense, a traitor. He was a turn-coat. McCain actions, if the accusations of his collaboration while a POW are true, could rise to treason...worse than Jane Fonda’s stupid actions.

Same as the person who claims they don’t want a surprise party. No, don’t throw me a surprise party. No, I don’t want one! But, but, where’s my party?!?

Thank you for saying so eloquently what I have been thinking.

All of this is such a distraction, which the media love wasting so much time on.

Worth reminding everyone that McCain STARTED THIS SPAT by calling Trump’s supporters “crazies”. Trump is actually gaining more loyalty from his supporters by standing up for them.

McCain’s actions in Vietnam don’t begin to approach those of Benedict Arnold’s bravery and leadership during the Revolutionary War.

McCain has “handlers”? Is he still running for office?

I’m glad he doesn’t want Trump’s apology and I hope he doesn’t get one. He wants to move on because too bright a light is being shown on his real record of treason both while in captivity and since.

McCain thinks 3,000 of them weren’t heroes. They were “crazies” and “hobbits”.

He’s off on American soldiers killed in action in Viet Nam by 3,220

Almost the total KIA in Iraq

From wiki:
total of 4,491 U.S. service members were killed in Iraq between 2003 and 2014.[1

And THIS is what is deranged about McCain

Who’s crazy?
