Fox News defends Donald Trump's 'war hero' comments, turns on Sen. John McCain

"If you listen the comments in total, he's not critical of John McCain the war hero, he's critical of his Senate record," co-host Steve Doocy said. Responding and agreeing was co-host Geraldo Rivera, who was not as enthusiastic as Doocy, but did say that Trump would need to at least clarify his remarks. Later in the show, co-host Brian Kilmeade interviewed former Ronald Reagan advisor, agreeing that the situation was "blown out of proportion." Kilmeade continued to defend Trump, saying that "he went on to say 4 more times that he was a war hero." This statement was looked into closely by Politifact, and they concluded that "Trump literally said McCain is a hero five times, but never without caveats," and rated the claim "Mostly False."

With Fox News hosting the first Republican presidential primary debate on August 6, having Trump on the stage is important. With Trump currently leading in the most recent national polls, it doesn't come as a surprise to see Fox News continuing to legitimacy his candidacy with a sure ratings grabber just two weeks away.

2 Trump responded to a question in response he stated McCain was a hero because he had spent time as a POW. That trump saw others (those that weren’t captured) meaning our veterans as the heroe
3 immediately the candidates connected to gopee started attacking including their support the MSM and LEFT

4 Trump has held his ground despite all attempts to manipulate what he said and demands he steps down
5 when the internet erupts with vvideos, quotes from books, etc against McCain he decides he wants to move on. Sure he does

If the top (Trump) is toppled then the attack will continue until only the gopee candidate remains. Cruz will be an easy pick off without Trumo

This shameful episode has been going on for over forty years. Put yourself in the shoes of one of the families who have no idea what happened to their father, son, husband. No closure after nearly half a century, many having passed away never knowing. What could be a more important topic, I ask you?

For starters, the destruction of the country they fought for. And McCain has played no small role in that destruction.

Thousands of veterans were in Trumps audience as supporters at the Phoenix venue and on nationwide television.

McCain called thousands of U.S. Veterans mentally ill “Crazies”.

I certainly don’t mean he is weak. He is very strong. In many ways stronger than Trump. But he doesn’t have the name recognition or money trump has. With as many ganging up on him they will find or create a weakness to attack.
Remember how Rooney took Florida last time. It wasnt fair bordering illegal or at least not ethical. No matter Mitt won the nomination after that

Exactly. We finally have someone who is fighting our #1 enemy, more destructive than islamoterrorism: The Media Machine. No one else has stayed as strong against the media as Trump. We need to stand with him, imperfect though he and everyone is, or no one like Cruz stands a chance.
