Sen. Ted Cruz insists he wont wage violence on Republicanswhich is part of the reason why he wont condemn Donald Trumps comments about immigrants and prisoners of war.
The Wall Street Journal isnt holding back, though.
The papers conservative editorial board slammed Cruz and praised former Gov. Rick Perry for their starkly different responses to Trumps claim that Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is only a war hero because he got captured. I like people who werent captured better.
Perry, an Air Force veteran, had one of the quickest and most forceful condemnations of Trump, insisting the real estate mogul wasnt fit to be commander in chief and should drop out of the race.
But Cruz, who met with Trump last week and has praised him for drawing attention to illegal immigration, defended McCain but refused to comment about Trump.
The Journals editorial board wrote Monday that Perry should get full credit for criticizing Trump, but said Cruz was revealing his own lack of political character and rebuked his reasons for staying out of the fray.
Mr. Cruz recently released a book whose main theme is an attack on other Republicans, wrote the editorial board. Its central to his campaign strategy. The Texas Senator must be hoping to inherit Trump voters once the casino magnate flames out.(continued)

Goldman Sachs...can we ever hear about Jeb and the Lehman brothers)
Cruz will never follow the herd and Political Correctness isn’t in his extensive vocabulary.
Two more reasons for supporting him.
Bullschtein!
The WSJ has long been shamelessly open borders and an arm of the Republican Establishment, much like FOX.
I knew it. The knives are starting to come out for Cruz as well. Et tu, WSJ?
cruz, Trump and the others will not survive the GOPe wishes. They have too much power, too many connections, and they make the rules.
Only one alternative: Cruz and Trump flip Rove the bird and go third party Independent. There is no other way. This is the third article unfairly bashing Ted Cruz in as many weeks.
Incidentally, if you want to make money, don’t read the Wall Street Journal. Go with Investor’s Business Daily. And their editorial board is much more reasonable.
Frankly, ANY reporter, journalist, media news reader, media pundit, analyst, ‘expert’ or whatever else they call themselves that has the audacity to talk about “Lack of Character” should examine their own pathetic, miserable, useless, deceitful lives.
If ‘character’ hasn’t mattered for the past 8 years, why does it matter now?
I’m becoming tempted to cancel my WSJ subscription which is the sole remaining paper to which I subscribe (both “hardcopy” & online). Then I’ll get my news solely by ad hoc internet searches and “aggregators” such as Drudge and the upcoming Apple News.
“The papers conservative editorial board “
Bulls**t. The WSJ is a step or two less liberal than Salon when it comes to editorials.
“Im becoming tempted to cancel my WSJ subscription...”
Tough addiction to break. Other than the editorial page, it is really a superb paper.
Someone with true character would throw a friend under the bus for the sake of political advancement. /s
Oh so now we’re jumping on the bandwagon against Cruz....
REALLY????
Just because someone doesn’t say or do, look, talk, act like you want them to in your tiny little heads, well then start the dirt pilling on....
If people knew just ONCE in their lifetimes what the hell they wanted, wouldn’t it be easier???? But no, that person didn’t say this, or that person didn’t say that, or this person stood up for this person, or that person stood up for another person, their worthless....
I stand with the Trump/Cruz or Cruz/Trump ticket, there you have it, my choice, at least I made one....
The open borders hacks at the WSJ in full attack mode.
JBush protection in play.
They need Trump out because JBush’s handlers were calculating a fragmented conservative base.
If Trump knocks out the likes of Santorum, Huckabee, Jindal, Cristie etc. The field will not be fragmented enough for JBush’s 13,000 sole supporters to pay his way through to the end.
Cruz is smart - staying above the fray. Doesn’t follow the sheep when they all start bleating the canned response.
Besides, I’m now hearing conflicting stories about what Trump actually said.
I’m convinced that Rove is paying Gomer and Sweater Vest to run. Why would Huckster leave a nice little one-night-a-week television show to run again when he knows there ain’t no way he’s winning the nomination?
The WSJ supports open borders which means it supports illegals with criminal backgrounds entering into this country. That is lacking political character!
“Conservative editorial board” my arse.
