The comments at the link are interesting. No one there likes McCain or seems to think Cruz needed to say that. I agree with them. The irksome part of what Cruz said is that he enjoys working with McCain. How could any conservative enjoy working with McCain? (I still like Cruz so not saying I will hold it against him.)
McCain is not an American hero just because he was a POW. Heroes are made by action, not inaction. I’m not saying he is to blame for being captured. There have been POWs who did heroic things. But just being captured does not make you a hero anymore than not being captured.
Trump does not bow down and kiss the ring of the RINOs. Horrible horrible! How can we destroy the US and empower radical Islam if we don’t have our RINOs?
Jeb did make a statement. It may not be on his website or facebook but it was very strong and very condemning of Trump.

Cruz is politic while Trump is definitely not (politic).
Anyone with a shred of political acumen (or common sense) should understand this, and this is why I am confounded as to why so many (to turn the tables) “purists” among the He Man Trump Haters Club are winding their panties up into knots over Trump whipping fake conservatives, RINOs and Democrats like the dirty dogs they are .. catching my breath

Watching that video of Cruz interview, one thing became crystal clear to me. Note that I am no newbie political junkie. I have watched every JFK/Nixon debate from my college dorm in Iowa city, even though I was not a US citizen then and could not vote. I was transfixed by charm of JFK. And I remained a democrat for another 6 or 7 more years. Well, Reagan was also once a democrat.
What is clear to me is that the MSM is petrified of Trump’s standing in polls. They know he can not be controlled by his rich donors like the other 15 candidates, because he has none. That scares them s$itless. And same goes for the GOP elites.
The DC establishment realizes if Trump becomes president, all bets are off. Trump must be stopped ASAP.

It’s an odd statement.
It’s quite possible that a man may perform bravely in one moment or mission, and be despicable after that.
Cruz puzzles me. I want to think he’s not GOPe. He appears to be outside that circle, but statements like this make me wonder.
I’m also concerned about his eligibility. If he had been born of an American mother and a Kenyan father in Mexico, would he be eligible to be President, and how is that legally different from an American mother and a Cuban father in Canada?

This part about McCain being a “hero” he’s just saying because he knows the media will rake him over the coals if he says anything negative about the old RINO. Cruz is smart. When Trump finally drops out and he will, Cruz will pick up his supporters. The other candidates are too stupid to understand that.
