Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Sunday he’s not sorry and he’s not withdrawing from the race over remarks he made about Arizona Sen. John McCain‘s status as a war hero.
Mr. Trump drew fire after he said Saturday that Mr. McCain, the party’s 2008 presidential standard-bearer who spent five years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, was “not a war hero.” Mr. Trump explained his dislike of seeing Mr. McCain was described that way by saying that Mr. McCain was “a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
The New York developer and entertainer drew broad condemnation from GOP competitors for his comments. Florida Gov. Jeb Bush called on Mr. Trump to end “slanderous attacks,” and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry called for Mr. Trump to drop out of the race.
“I’m certainly not pulling out,” Mr. Trump told ABC’s This Week on Sunday morning.
Mr. Trump said he wasn’t apologizing, “not at all” and said it was disgruntled rivals who had stirred up a controversy over his remarks. “This whole thing was brought up by a lot of the people that are competing against me currently that aren’t even registering in the polls because people are tired of them.”
“I’m certainly not pulling out; I’m leading and I’m leading in many states,” he said.

The media misquotes Trump and fails to mention that McCain started the spat when he called those against the illegals crazies.
Trump is the only candidate, besides Cruz, that will take it to Hillary and not back down. McCain and Romney didn’t do that with Obama and lost.

The media wants Trump to drop out because he is the biggest threat to Hillary Clinton..the media isn’t stupid, they know people are sheep..if Trump gets booted, they will make sure a leftist Republican like Jeb Bush becomes the nominee, then Hillary Clinton gets a clear path to victory

Perry is just trying to eliminate enough of his protagonists to get himself a seat in the debate. I used to think Perry was a good guy, but it turns out he’s just another tick turd!

It's clear from the actual clip that as usual some off the cuff remarks are taken out of context, seized on and blown way out of proportion in an attempt to score political points. Another example of the double standard. Compared to Biden's history of gaffs this one is pretty tame.
What is telling is that any other candidate facing similar criticism would instantly backpedal and go on an apology tour. That's the sort of blatant hypocrisy that American's have come to expect from the political class, and it's refreshing to see someone who isn't afraid to speak their mind and is more concerned with the real issues than mollifying bruised egos. That's why Trump is gaining some serious respect from the general population.
