Florida Sen. Marco Rubio says Donald Trump's comment that Sen. John McCain is not a war hero should disqualify him from the 2016 presidential race.
"It's not just absurd, it's offensive. It's ridiculous. And I do think it's a disqualifier as commander-in-chief," Rubio said in an interview Sunday with CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."
The Florida senator was the latest Republican White House contender to hit Trump after the real estate mogul said Saturday that McCain "is not a war hero" because he was captured and held prisoner in Vietnam.
"He is a war hero because he was captured," Trump said. "I like people that weren't captured, OK?"
He walked back those comments on Twitter later, saying that "captured or not, all our soldiers are heroes!" But opponents who'd been looking for openings to criticize Trump were already piling on.

According to Rubio, a presidential candidate is not allowed to say somebody is not a hero! Now there is a truly crazy statement.
1. McCain doesn’t have a lot of fans, anyway. Most of his votes in 2008 came from people holding their noses and hoping Sarah Palin was enough to save the country. It’s not like McCain has a huge conservative base to offend.
2. Outside the Republican base, most voters can’t tell what century the Viet Nam war was in and are vaguely anti-military.
So I’m not sure Trump hurt himself this time, especially since he didn’t say what the media attributed to him, anyway. What this episode foreshadows, though, is Trump shooting his mouth off on some important topic.

Trump said McCain was a war hero four times in his remarks. The MSM and certain Reps have distorted what was said.
Rubio is a joke and nothing more.
Clinton wrote that he “loathed” the Military and he was a Two Term President Marco.
