“For the more rational Trumpsters, I think it isn’t so much that they like “the Donald” necessarily, what they like that is that he is saying things and forcing debates on issues all of us wish actual conservatives would do.”
That’s where I am. I’m not a Trumpeter, but am enjoying the show and how he is changing the focus away from ‘How do we pretend we are not for amnesty but are for a pathway to citizenship’ that most of the other candidates are playing.
I expect him to fade away, but hope he stays around ling enough to permanently change the debate and force the other candidates to pick an honest position so they quit lying toms.
Good posting - that’s why most of the Trump supporters here are taking the position that we are - which is Trump in 2015 (to clear the field of RINOs and weaken Hillary) and Cruz in 2016 (a conservative that we can all trust).
The Trump Derangement Syndrome iin action.
I don’t do the birther stuff. But as I understand it, it’s the mother’s nationality that matters. Cruz’s mother was born in Delaware.
Even Politfact, which is not known for friendliness to conservatives, has admitted that there’s little to argue against.
However, I do share your concern about the “Supreme Court”. I guess if Cruz is elected, we may see review we never saw for Obama.
You have hillary or you have trump.
I wish, too, but no.
Well Kreskin, we shall see.
Lies! Lies! Donald is a true conservative.
Actually the main argument on this thread seems to be “so what”? LOL. “He’s also divorced” “I’m a jets fan”.

It wasn’t “so what?” when it was Romney.
But IIRC it was “so what?” when it was brought up that Newt Gingrich once wanted an individual mandate, though to fair if there is a position out there, Newt Gingrich has held it at one point or another.
Well if Donald is for Universal single payer then it must be good even if we always were against it, after all Trump is successful and the only one who will kick their butts.
He is the smartest one in the room.
We must follow him to hell if we have to
AMES, IOWA (The Borowitz Report)Presidential candidate Donald Trump revealed a little-known episode of personal heroism from his youth on Saturday, telling an Iowa audience that he narrowly avoided capture in Vietnam by remaining in the United States for the duration of the war.
The Cong were after me, Trump said, visibly stirred by the memory. And then, just in the nick of time, I got my deferment.
Trump Says He Heroically Avoided Capture in Vietnam by Staying in USA.(July 18, 2015 )
Yeah, it’s pretty pathetic watching these people stick their collective head in the sand and give Trump a pass on every single left wing position he’s taken, especially when they are calling everyone else in the race (except Ted, but give them time) a “GOP-e traitor statist RINO” for equal, or lesser, transgressions.
I appreciate your respectful response and good intentions. Sadly, however, I honestly suspect that the end result of Trump's shenanigans is going to be diluting conservative support for Ted and making it easier for a Rubio or, worse, Jeb to lock it up.
Remember, success in the primaries is based in part on momentum and resulting fundraising. Trump may actually succeed in getting Ted (and possibly a few of the other more conservative candidates) knocked out of the initial debates (due to low polling). That could easily stall any real momentum for Ted, while Jeb can ride it out on his name, establishment connections and big money. Next thing you know, it's Trump vs Bush towards the end, Bush gets it and we're screwed (and even more screwed when Trump decides to either go third party or return to his roots and endorse Hillary).
I have seen Cruz take some tough beatings here on some threads too, primarily on those visas and the Obama trade deal..
But now he seems to be hitching his wagon to Trumpster, the man with all the answers.
I suspect Cruz believes that Trump is drawing the flak right now and letting him campaign relatively unscathed by the press. I hope he's right but I suspect, in actuality, the Donald is sucking the conservative oxygen out of the room and Ted is going to lose too much momentum to recover, leaving us with Jeb.
I also think Ted is being a little naive if he doesn't realize the press will turn on him as viciously as they do anyone who gets the GOP nomination, regardless of how they behave in the primary.
I always wondered why ARINOLD was such a big fan of the guy...
You make it look I said that by putting my name first. Twas Eccl 10:2.
The rest of the quote is “You just have to do it right.”
There is no way to do it right, Eccl.
Anyway, I didn’t know that about Milty, if indeed it’s true, which I’m not convinced of.
Ain’t the first time this has happened and won’t be the last. Someone becomes the flavor of the month, usually for PRETTY WORDS, NOT DEEDS, and they are untouchable according to their fan club. Newt is a great example. Egomaniacs will say anything to get elected, I don’t care much about their words, their deeds show you who they really are.
If Trump can survive to the Nomination, and there is every reason to believe he will. Then he will survive the remaining contest.
Besides, I'm not so sure Shrillary is going to be the democratic nominee. Sanders is appearing to be an acceptable candidate to the leftists. I think Trump wins in contest with either.
