Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he does not owe John McCain an apology for saying the Arizona senator is only a war hero because he was captured.
"He's a war hero because he was captured," Trump said of McCain Saturday while at a campaign event in Iowa. "I like people who weren't captured."
Before Trump's comments, McCain had referred to those who attended a campaign event for the real estate mogul as "crazies."

John McCain owes America an apology. Keep punching, Mr. Trump.
No he doesn’t. But he does owe the rest of the former POWs an apology. They never did what McCain is doing and tgey never claimed to be war heroes. But they are not losers tgey are the very opposite. If trump wants to talk about them and to say he’s for vets and the military he’ll be well advised to stop looking at his rising poll numbers pick up a book on the Hanoi Hilton and read it IF he wants to talk about those guys
I agree with Trump and his refusal to apologize.
McCain is a disgrace and far from a hero.
And yes we are still waiting for Juan’s apology for his “crazy” comments.
Any candidate who condemns Trump for this is out in my opinion.
It appears McCain can dish it out - but can't take it... Yes, McCain's service was heroic - he could have been released but stayed with his fellow Americans in the POW camp - BUT that doesn't give McCain a pass for everything that falls from his mouth. NO John McCain - people who want our borders secure AND want illegals to leave are NOT 'crazies'...
I’m all in for Cruz but I have absolutely no problems with Trump, might be a little rough around the edges with how he articulates his message but you certainly have no trouble understanding the message...........continue to carry the message Mr Trump!
War can be messy, Mccain and his buddies are the enemy; no mercy.
J. McCain started it. And yes, McCain is no hero. McCain is the one who owns vet an apology for his offensive lack of support for POW/MIAs.
Apologize?
Nay...we just PUMP UP THE VOLUME even more.
About time McCain was called to task. You just barked up the wrong tree, Senator.
Thank you for noticing that fact.
The media already has been ramping up it’s strike force, doing the bidding of their employer publishers who are probably getting paid off to “organize” a take down, in tandem, against Trump. I suspect the Clinton Foundation, the Bush machine, RNC and the Establishment horses in DC could buy plenty of cooperation from media.
Media had to wait until Trump’s next controversial comment to then show off their fire power. Even Brit Hume was in on the act. DC has had quite enough of Trump.
"We in the GOP support our King Obama, ObamaTRADE, ObamaCARE,
and his abuse of Vets, and his support of ISIS and al Qaeda.
We agree with McCain that our voters are "crazies"
and we absolutely support his IRS attacks on conservative voters."
I don’t remember...
Did McCain “apologize” for improperly using his influence as the “Keating-Five” scandal played out?
Yet another example of how politicians circle the wagons when anyone dares ruffle their feathers...even when they're enemies.
I hope Trump starts showing his record of supporting vets before he ran for President! I hope he shows the events where HE has been honored by the military for supporting them.

I think he will slowly release that info.. Drip. Drip. Drip.
And McCain is doing just fine....millions of dollars, power, superior healthcare, access....etc etc. He gave up that election and handed it to Obama...I also saw how he did NOT defend his own VP pick. He may have been a hero back then...but something happened to McFly along the way.
Are you familiar with the years of support and amounts of money Trump has donated to military causes?
fixed.
“NO John McCain - people who want our borders secure AND want illegals to leave are NOT ‘crazies’... “

Bears repeating!!!!
That’s because McCain was talking about us. The Washington cartel, DC elites in both political parties have a great distain for common Americans. Even those that do their bidding.
