Republican presidential candidate and former Texas Governor Rick Perry strongly criticized fellow candidate Donald Trump for his remarks about Senator Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) at Saturdays Family Leadership Summit in Iowa.
Perrys discussion began with Frank Luntz asking the audience who they would invest in the most between teachers, nurses, and veterans. Perry then expressed his desire to answer the question. He stated, if you dont first keep this country free. If you dont first have the investment in the men and women who are willing their hand up and say, Here am I, send me, You will never have the dollars to hire the teacher. You will never have the dollars to hire a nurse.

Perry has done himself in.
Men who obtained deferments in order to avoid service should not denigrate those who served and endured capture.
Trump is right. Is the hero the guy who can’t get the mission accomplished?
The media sure gives Perry (1% in the polls) a lot of rope.
Perry, McPain ain’t worth your time.
He may have been okay once, but he sure is not anymore.
I don’t think he ever was okay. He graduated near the bottom of his class at Annapolis, he crashed 4 planes before he was shot down. There are stories that he caused the fire that almost destroyed the Forrestal.
After captivity, he was worse.
So were a lot of other people who haven't spent the rest of their lives undermining the country they were serving.
McCain is a disgrace. There is no getting around that.
Every day he finds a way of disgracing himself a little more.
LOL. hadn’t considered that.
What is it that separates true heroes from ordinary men?
Did McCain have that quality? Ever?
I have read elsewhere that he crashed 4 planes before the one that got him captured. Is that true?
Does the navy routinely put someone back in the cockpit if they keep crashing their planes?
Do you know about the problems he caused on the Forrestal? (sp), and why he was immediately transferred off that ship?
Why aren’t more of his fellow captured cell mates speaking up for him?
Could it be his service was somewhat less than “heroic”?
Yeah, you bring up a lot of points, but, the granddaddy of all is his almost getting the United States to give support to ISIS. Where did that twisted thinking come from?
No but Trump should have attacked McCains politics not his POW status. Stupid. If Trump can not handle McCain without stepping on it he will never be able to handle the Clinton mob.
Well, everyone else is talking about his politics. Trump or no Trump.

HE better watch out, one day the Donald will have had enough and he will turn his guns on Slick Rick, and I don’t think Rick is going to like that very much.
Trump is a POS. Thankfully a lot of thinking conservatives with memories called this blowhards bluff when he first announced his candidacy. But then like Perot, Carson, Paul and huckster he has his mindless followers.
There will be more on this subject because McCain is consistent.
'Those that cant, teach.'"
Yeah, the military gets one wrong every now and again, too.
Very astute observation. Well done.
Almost?
They did get weapons from us.
