Lots of Donald Trump‘s Republican presidential candidates have already shredded him for his comments about John McCain, but Rick Perry came out swinging by calling for Trump to basically GTFO.
In case you missed it, the draft-defering Trump attacked McCain today over his war hero status because, “He’s a war hero ’cause he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.”
Now, for some unbelievable reason, lots of conservatives including the aforementioned candidates thought Trump crossed a line.
Perry was the first to release a statement on The Donald’s latest rambling, this one really going for the jugular (emphasis his):
Donald Trump should apologize immediately for attacking Senator McCain and all veterans who have protected and served our country. As a veteran and an American, I respect Sen. McCain because he volunteered to serve his country. I cannot say the same of Mr. Trump. His comments have reached a new low in American politics. His attack on veterans make him unfit to be Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces, and he should immediately withdraw from the race for President.
For the record, when Trump was asked if he plans to apologize, he said no.
All Trump did was call out the Manchurian candidate and perry gets his knickers in a smoking bind.Good for Trump.
Boy, one gaffe and you’re running. I’ll stand aside and watch Trump squeeze out of this or not. Should be interesting.
Remember, McCain started this. He called the folks in Las Vegas “crazies.” He always pops off like this and now he’s been insulted good and plenty. Boo-hoo. Not.
He was responding to McCain’s insults. He called Trump and his supporters “crazies.”
McCain insulted Trumps supporters in AZ.
He attacked McCain because McCain attacked Trump’s audience by calling them all “crazies”.
What gaffe? Calling out mcnutts that gave us Obama? Go soak your head.
McCain is scum.
Rick should take his own advice to Trump.

He was asked a question about McCain. And McCain is the one who escalated the exchanges when he said about those attending Trump's rally in Phoenix that Trump "Fired up the crazies".
Trump should have stayed away from the POW aspect, but I think Juan's insult to thousands of probable voters at Trump's Phoenix rally was far more out-of-line.
