Jeb Bush reaffirmed the idea for Puerto Rico statehood on Tuesday during a visit to Puerto Rico, winning great applause.
The former Florida governor and 2016 GOP presidential prospect delivered a speech on economic opportunities peppered with Spanish.
He's fluent in the language, and often uses it in Florida, but it's rarely heard in Republican presidential campaign politics.

Probably the same reason Jeb and Co. think that it's a great idea to continue importing people who are economically and culturally different from Americans by the millions.
Dear Jeb:
Enclosed is an application to join The Democratic Party that you requested in your recent phone call. We look forward to ...
That aint the plan.
The big prize is the addition of Los Estados Unidos de Mexico.
Boy plans to be Lord of the Flies.
Who said this guy is the smarter Brother, has he gotten any issue right? I’d answer yes, he has gotten all the issues right if I was dirty RAT voter.
US politicians are also unique in that they often campaign on how much their proposed policies will benefit nations and peoples other than their own.
I’d be willing to bet that if he were asked the question “would you support statehood for Puerto Rico AND the requirement that its citizens would not be subject to Federal Income taxes” he’d say yes.
It’s those Hispanic votes, folks. They’re his ticket to the Bush Legacy Triumvirate.
Only it's more a case of Mexico absorbing parts of the US rather than the reverse.
Of course he wants it. That goes along with making citizens of all the Latinos who get here. It will elect and retain the Permanent Democrat Total State which is something most Republicans seem just as avid for as are Democrats.
Obama strives to make his 57 into 58. His 57 was a slip but of a kind not understood by most. There are 57 Moslem States in the world.
Maybe Jeb is not as stupid as everyone thinks, maybe he actually does not want to be President so he is throwing the election.
Nah, he probably is just that stupid.
Agreed. It seems we are developing a test: If their policies will harm the country and they support foreign nations and movements then, DO NOT VOTE FOR THEM!
The GOP establishment seems to pick progressively worse candidates for each election from 1988 on: Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain, Romney, Bush(if they get their way). I hate to say it, but Jeb almost makes Romney and McCain look like models of sense and sanity.
George Bush Jr. LOOKS like Alfred E. Nueman......
Jeb Bush (( IS )) Alfred E. Nueman...
Barb Bush... maybe was...... (well you know)..
Fixed it.
What me worry?.... I would say YES...
¡ Jeb ! is acting as though there is no internet that catches every darn thing including crap in Spanish. Right now it’s as if he thinks all of his little visits to fringe groups can be compartmentalized, with the general voter population safely blocked from his outrageous statements.
The boy ain’t right._
I posit that Jeb is the one who isn't a serious candidate. He plays to the Democrat/liberal/marxist bases in just about everything he expounds on.....while totally antagonizing the Republicans and conservatives who are the ones WHO ARE GOING TO DO THE VOTING in the primary election.
Neither Bush nor his advisors are this stupid, uninformed or rash.... as some would like to think. Something else is in Jeb's sights for the future...and it's definitely not the presidency.
Leni
That aint the plan.
The big prize is the addition of Los Estados Unidos de Mexico.
I don’t think so. After the Mexican ruling elite run all the Aztecs and other indigenous people up here, they’re not going to want them back. They wouldn’t want a part of our failed state.
We should give Puerto Rico to Cuba - they have much more in common with them when it comes to socialism.
Or we should give Puerto Rico to Haiti - they have much more in common with them when it comes to economics.
Just what we need...more broke tit suckers.
