Businessman and TV personality Donald Trump tops the latest Suffolk University/USA Today poll of the Republican presidential primary. Trump has 17 percent support among likely GOP primary voters nationwide, edging out former Florida governor Jeb Bush with 14 percent. The remaining candidates earn support in the single digits.
But while Trump currently reigns in the primary, he would lose double-digits against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. In a head-to-head match-up, Clinton would beat Trump 51 percent to 34 percent, according to the poll.
"Clinton was not as strong in matchups against other Republicans," according to the Suffolk press release. "Bush was her closest rival in a matchup that included all voters polled, trailing the former New York senator by a 4 percent margin, 46 percent to 42 percent, with 13 percent undecided. Clinton led all GOP contenders but polled below 50 percent against the top six, with the exception of Trump."

i don’t know of 1 ordinary person, outside the media/politicians, I see every day that will vote for Jeb Bush. NO ONE likes him except the some in the media and some in Washington politics. The rest of the country has no desire to see a “Bush vs. Clinton” race.

Incumbent President Jimmy Carter initially had a huge lead in the polls, due to the rally-around-the flag effect of the Iranian hostage crisis and the perceived extremism of Reagan. The continuing hostage crisis and the poor economy hurt Carter, and the prospect John B. Anderson running as an independent appealed to around 20% of Americans who saw Carter as a lesser evil to Reagan. As a result, Anderson took a third of Carter's support in the spring, but did not seem to hurt Reagan, despite Anderson being a Republican. Carter would never recover this loss of support, while Reagan would end up peeling around two-thirds of initial Anderson voters. This race remained close until near the end, when Reagan asked Americans if they were better off than they were four years ago. Afterwards Reagan managed to win a huge landslide victory in the general election.[15]

Sorry not sold on Walker if he is your man. First, he is for open borders and rigid trade. Second, he has not charismatic. He puts me to sleep when he talks. Finally, he would lost to Hillary.

It's quite brilliant. Conservatives want the "I told you so! Admit your mistake," whereas Trump's position is "I'm like you. They fooled me." No other candidate, including my favorite Cruz, can say that. Not surprisingly, Cruz met AGAIN with Trump in NYC yesterday.
And in Vegas the same morning. That was a big hit.
Strongly disagree. The media is desperate NOT to talk about illegals and Trump is pushing it down their throat.
