The Atlanta Chapter of the NAACP is calling for the removal of the Confederacy from Stone Mountain Park. Local chapter president Richard Rose says, It is time for Georgia and other Southern states to end the glorification of slavery and white supremacy, paid for and maintained, with the taxes of all its citizens. According to Rose, all of this recognition of Confederate generals is upholding the white supremacy on which the Confederacy was founded and the war was fought. He goes on to say, all of this should have ended in 1865 when Lee surrendered to Appomattox. Hes referring to, what historians refer to as, one of the last battles before Confederate Army General Robert Lee surrendered to Union Army Lt. Ulysses Grant on April 9, 1865. Recent debate about the emblems was sparked by the mass killings at Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Alleged gunman Dylann Roof was seen in photographs posing with the Confederate Flag. While some consider the flag as a commemoration of their heritage, others consider it a symbol of hate. On Friday, South Carolina removed the flag from its statehouse grounds.
Georgia removed the Confederate emblem from its flag in 2001, though the Stars and Bars from the First National Confederate Flag remain on the state flag. The Confederate Flag still flies at Stone Mountain Park, which is owned by and run by the State of Georgia. Many, like Congressman Hank Johnson, see the park as a museum for the Confederacy. According to Johnson, where do we draw the line, do we blast the faces off of Stone Mountain? Rose says yes. He adds, they can sand blast Lee, Jefferson Davis, and Jackson off tomorrow. Id be extremely elated.

And put obama, jesse jackson and al sharpton in their place?
Sorry...Re-grand opening.
Remove the NAACP to Cuba. NAACP: National Association for the Advancement of the Communist Program.
Oooh, what you said. The Thought Police doesn’t like such sentiments.
It’s a good thing EBT cards were invented. Otherwise, NAACP types would have to carry around pictures of white slaveowners in their wallets.
To understand just how evil has been the intent of this organization--and how truly they do not have the real interests of those, Black or White, desirous of good race relations, at heart, consider the testimony of the great Negro educator, Booker T. Washington, on race relations & the potential for economic progress in the Old South.
Once you look at the alternatives, you may realize how truly despicable is what the Left leaning mass media has contributed to, in its endless support for the campaign of hate, represented here.
Speaking of Indians, there were Cherokee units that fought for the Confederacy. Which minority takes precedence? Bring that fact up to liberals and see if they are reduced to incoherent sputtering...oh,wait..
Glorification??
OH PLz.
Or stalin.
Ethnic Cleansing.
No, not yet...
First comes, “Cultural Cleansing”, then “Ethnic Cleansing”, then full blown genocide....
We are in the “Cultural Cleansing” Phase...
I intend to visit ASAP.
Someone needs to tell Congressman Johnson that by Georgia state law, Stone Mountain Park has been designated as a Confederate Memorial. Flying the Stars and Bars is appropriate there.
I won’t even address the premise other than with a “FU, try it”.
Burn the books!
“Atlanta NAACP Says They Can Sand Blast Lee, Jefferson Davis, And Jackson Off Stone Mountain”
Also, ban snow since it is too white and therefore stigmatizing.
NOT SAFE FOR WORK! This is my response, up to 0:11. NOT SAFE FOR WORK!
We could sand blast the naacp of the face of the Earth, too.
You're talking about a guy so stupid that he though adding troops to Guam would tip the island over. As such he is a perfect representative for his mostly black gerrymandered district.
