FBI admits screening system failed to flag Dylann Roof
Politico ^ | 07/10/2015 | Adam B. Lerner

FBI Director James Comey said Friday that his agency’s background check system failed and alleged South Carolina church shooter Dylann Roof should not have been allowed to buy a gun.

“This case rips all of our hearts out, but the thought that an error on our part is connected to a gun this person used to slaughter these people is very painful to us,” Comey told reporters at FBI headquarters, according to the Washington Post.

The FBI Director said that issues with the federal government’s screening system, which did not appropriately flag Roof’s name based on a previous felony charge for narcotics possession, allowed Roof to buy the gun that he allegedly used to shoot and kill nine African-Americans at an historic church in Charleston, S.C.

Information about Roof’s prior arrest had not been fully processed through the federal computer systems, Comey told reporters.

A website that surfaced after the shooting showed Roof pictured with the gun, as well as a Confederate battle flag. A manifesto on the site revealed that the alleged crime was inspired by racial animus and later reporting has revealed that Roof was in contact with white supremacists online.

On Friday morning, just before Comey’s revelation, the Confederate battle flag was taken down from outside the South Carolina state capitol building in Columbia, a move many state legislators said honored the victims of the killings less than one month ago.

When they do a sophisticated background check for a security clearance with an SF86 or e-QIP, that information is not stored safely. We're dealing with incompetent ass clowns.

You don’t understand: The background check is not designed to prevent potential criminals from using guns...it is designed only to place enough “bullshit” for you to go through so that you just might give up and throw up you hands and give up on trying to buy a gun.

As my byline states, the rot has caused anything the government does to be done in the least professional manner, ineptitude is rampant and no one is held responsible for anything.

It is also conditioning for what will come after jade helm 15 conditions the sheep to obey their masters.

All jokes aside, we’ll soon hear how this is the republicans’ fault somehow.
Just like the murder in SF was somehow republicans’ fault.

Now, why didn’t NSA catch him before his ‘terrorism’?

It was originally reported that the gun was a gift from his father.

How did they get something so basic so wrong?

I see.

So the “system” didn’t work.

God only knows what incompetent morons are in charge of that process.

One thing for sure is they will not be held accountable.

They started reporting correctly on the second day. On the first day they were reporting what they hoped was true. On the second day they had to start printing some facts. But the damage was done. People still believe his father bought him the gun. Mission accomplished.

He did exactly what the FBI wanted to the letter. It’s called a FALSE FLAG!

Document that BS.

"Huh? I read his father bought the gun for him."

I'd read that too, and that his parents wouldn't let him take it from the house on his own. Was the weapon he used in the killings one he got on his own?

As I understand it, his charges hadn’t been input yet, being quite recent. Obviously there’s generally going to be a lag time between charges filed and showing up in the system.

Don’t have to document as it is not B.S. The only thing that’s B.S. is between your ears if you think the FBI is your friend. Have had them try three times to rope me into there B.S. in the North GA. mountains. They don’t sound southern, they don’t know the people and are always talking shit. Two came into the shop and wanted to know why there were so many guns? Everyone stood up and pulled back there shirts and said like these. I told them it was because there was a lot of trash coming though the area. For some reason them boys have not come back.

I hear the “false flag” stuff constantly, but never see credible evidence to back it up. I would not put it past this regime to do such a thing, and I don’t consider the FBI a friend. But there’s never proof shown.

As far as I can see, Dylan Roof is an individual crazy/evil person who did a horrible thing to decent people. Show me how the FBI (or any alphabet agency) MADE him do it.

So, rather than guns, they are saying that government incompetence caused the mass murder. I’ll go along with that.

They were too busy reading the emails of Tea Partyers.

Well the gun store originally said that they got a verification so they sold the kid a gun. Then the FBI said oh now we have a hold on him. Its like trying to document smoke.

All these shooters have funky haircuts, a thousand yard stare, are on psychotropic drugs and many of these incidents have multiple witnesses saying more than one shooter. Then later just one shooter.

I don’t know about this particular incident but based on recent history its not out of the realm of speculation to suspect false flag. Its pretty easy to take some nutty kid on drugs and put a gun in his hand and point him in the direction you want him to go.

So the government is always suspect given the atmosphere we are currently living in. Hey it got rid of the Confederate flag in a couple of weeks with almost no fanfare. A mighty achievement in the South.

Who knows. The government is up to their armpits in deceptive activity right now. Nothing could shock me.

No, they’ll say because we need a 90-day waiting period to purchase a firearm.

Have been asking for business cards and I.D. but undercover guys don't like that. Picked up a tail two weeks ago (new Cameo black no plates or tags) took him down a dead end road and was waiting with a Tac 500 12ga. He almost turned it over getting out of the ambush. The Sheriff is a personal friend so I called him to find out if there was a call. No call, no 911, no inter agency note, nothing. As for making someone do something. That boy was so hammered on drugs he didn't even know what state he was in. Lets see, Sandy Hook(DRUGS)Colorado (DRUGS) Boston(DRUGS) Maybe a pattern I don't know.
