In an exclusive interview, billionaire Donald Trump tells Breitbart News that voters respond powerfully to his statements on immigration and trade, and that he is the only candidate who can defeat presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Its been a wild ride. Its been pretty wild. But the message is getting out there and the polls are looking good, and were doing fine. And Im enjoying it, said Trump, who shot up in the polls after taking a strong stand against illegal immigration. I loved what I was doing before, but this is so important for the country, because politicians are never going to make our country great.
One can have great respect for Mexico and treat the country fairly and demand that they do the same, Trump said. Other countries walk all over the U.S. on trade, thanks in part to American leadership failing to negotiate deals that benefit Americans.
Were getting killed on trade, all over the world. Not only with Mexico and I have great respect for Mexico. I have great relationships with the Hispanics and I always have. I employ thousands of Hispanics. Ive employed so many. Theyre phenomenal people. I have great, great love for the Mexican people. I have respect for the country of Mexico.
The problem is, he continued, the leadership in Mexico is so much smarter than our leadership. And the trade deals theyre making are good for Mexico, and bad for the United States. Theyre terrible for the United States.
And I believe thats a factor in Univision, because I think Mexico wanted Univision to do something to get me, even more so than the border, get me to stop talking about the horrible trade deals the United States is making with Mexico,

Trump: Most of my positions are indistinguishable from Hillary’s.
"Can I identify with the candidate?"
"Is the candidate trustworthy?"
"Does the candidate care about people like me?"
Trump is the only candidate who ties or loses to Hillary on these questions. Every other candidate destroys her. Trump is a fool. He is a clown. He is a liberal. He is a narcissist. He is a flip flopper. He is a scum bag.
The fact that someone on this forum even has any modicum of respect for him truly brings into question what this forum stands for.
What are they going to say when the media turns on Trump?
What are they going to say when his dirty secrets start coming out?
What are they going to say when they find out that he took people's homes through imminent domain and had them bulldozed to build a parking lot?
What are they going to say when they find out he paid bribes?
If you think Romney was accused of shady business deals, just wait till they start bringing up Trumps sordid history.
Please, I beg you. Tell your family how corrupt he is and tell them that Cruz actually believes in the things that Trump is currently pretending to believe in.
Another choice between two Democrats. Charming.
“Trump: Most of my positions are indistinguishable from Hillarys.”
PLEASE link us to Hillary saying that she wants a border fence.
...I didn’t think so, TROLL!
I totally believe Trump can beat Hillary. He and Ted Cruz are the only ones that will take it to her. All others just start saying President Clinton.
Agree with both. Cruz had the consistent principles but Trump has the louder voice.
Trump could also be a fraud put up by the establishment, who the hell knows. Like Ross Perot, he’s saying all the things the people want to hear but Ross Perot did the same thing and turned out to be the Clinton machine’s fraud. I have NO confidence in our system nor anyone of those who seek high office. At this point regarding the survival of this country, Jesus is the only truth I count on.
Trump will destroy Hillary. Cruz I am not so sure he would beat Hillary, I hope he would but outside conservative voters he is not popular.
Trumps problem is getting nominated, the GOP nomination process is utterly corrupt.
Massive voter fraud in the election is a given. I can’t see anyone other than Trump (at this point) beating Hillary.
Hillary must not become President, she will finish off the country.
No, I believe Trump to be the better candidate.
LMAO
Excellent!
One connects and that hair is gonna break!
I would pay to see him take the Hildabeast apart,I wish he would start now
Trump is in it for Trump. He is not an ideologue. He is not a philosopher. He does not understand the principals of liberty, independence natural rights or limited government.
He is a hustler. He is a narcissist. He is saying what he is saying today because he thinks it will help him not because he believes it.
He was in favor of single payer health care. He was in favor of amnesty. He donated to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. He supported Obama.
Yet.....Mariner believes in him.
If he ends up winning the nomination just wait and see what happens the next couple of weeks. The entire scaffolding of media hype that is currently holding him up will come crashing down.
To believe in Trump is to believe that the media hype that surrounds him will last and will carry him all the way to the finish line in the general election. If that is where you want to put your faith, go ahead. I won't be joining you.
We need to go back to the basics. We need to educate America about what liberty means. We need someone who can clearly explain why conservative ideas work in the long run and why they are better for America.
Does Trump belong to any of the secret societies?
He would beat Hillary as he would not hesitate to expose her big time. She’s recently said she wants to force all adults into Fema camps for reeducation by “progressives.” She said it would be like kiddie camp for adults - fun!
Nitzy
You're the true believer, not me.
I don't believe in any of these bastards, each being as corrupt as the other.
Including Cruz.
You think he's not selling his support to contributors? Free-traders and Goldman Sachs?
My advice to you is to quit believing in ANY mortal man and get a healthy dose of skepticism.
I just want to know....
If Trump gets the nomination, is subsequently pilloried, abandoned and trashed by the media, losses face with all of these “common men” who are supporting his unique personality and then loses the general election...
Will you apologize and admit that you should have known better.
I personally don’t know if Cruz can beat Hillary. I am certain that he will also be trashed by the media. The difference is that image is not all that Cruz has going for him. I do know that running moderates doesn’t work. I do know that running flip floppers doesn’t work. I do know that cults of personality fizzle out. I do know that conservatism needs to pushed to the forefront once again and the ideas behind conservatism need to be eloquently explained by someone. Cruz can do that. If that strategy can’t win, then I guess we are screwed. It is a hell of a lot better than a strategy of nominating a loose cannon based on his personality and hoping that he knows what the hell he is doing.
No.
Will you apologize when Cruz does not make it past Florida?
You are having a logical break down here.
Why would I apologize for my candidate not getting nominated?
Let do a little analogy and use the following variables....
Eggs=conservative policies
Home=enacted throughout the country
Basket=candidate
Mountain=current liberal climate of electorate and media
I am saying, “Let’s put our eggs in this basket. I think we might be able to get them all the way up the mountain and back home”.
If we choose not to use that basket, I was not wrong.
On the other hand, we could end up choosing your basket with it’s flashy colors and great advertising despite the fact that we all know that the “basket” was made out of dog crap just 4 years ago and was recently patched over with glitter and spackle. If your basket ends up disintegrating on the way up the mountain once it is exposed to the difficult terrain and elements of the mountain and our eggs end up breaking and covered in dog crap, you really should apologize for your advocacy and say you should have known better.
If my basket, which has been proven to be made of the most solid and dependable stuff, were to actually be chosen to hold the eggs and they end up breaking on the perilous trek back home up the mountain, I won’t be disappointed. I know that I made the best pick based on the soundest logic. Maybe others will see the basket and how it performed under tough conditions and choose similar baskets in the future. Maybe one day we will find a basket that can get the eggs back home up the mountain.
