In an exclusive interview, billionaire Donald Trump tells Breitbart News that voters respond powerfully to his statements on immigration and trade, and that he is the only candidate who can defeat presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016.
“It’s been a wild ride. It’s been pretty wild. But the message is getting out there and the polls are looking good, and we’re doing fine. And I’m enjoying it,” said Trump, who shot up in the polls after taking a strong stand against illegal immigration. “I loved what I was doing before, but this is so important for the country, because politicians are never going to make our country great.”
One can have great respect for Mexico and treat the country fairly — and demand that they do the same, Trump said. Other countries walk all over the U.S. on trade, thanks in part to American leadership failing to negotiate deals that benefit Americans.
“We’re getting killed on trade, all over the world. Not only with Mexico — and I have great respect for Mexico. I have great relationships with the Hispanics and I always have. I employ thousands of Hispanics. I’ve employed so many. They’re phenomenal people. I have great, great love for the Mexican people. I have respect for the country of Mexico.”
“The problem is,” he continued, “the leadership in Mexico is so much smarter than our leadership. And the trade deals they’re making are good for Mexico, and bad for the United States. They’re terrible for the United States.”
“And I believe that’s a factor in Univision, because I think Mexico wanted Univision to do something to get me, even more so than the border, get me to stop talking about the horrible trade deals the United States is making with Mexico,

At this point I wouldn't put anything past him. Americans are SOOOOOOO damned sick and tired of namby pamby Caspar Milquetoast's the GOPe has been foisting on us for years that the Donald is a refreshing breath of fresh air! It's great knowing that there is at least one public figure willing to call it like he sees it. I know that I don't see eye to eye with Trump on most things, and I don't plan to vote for him, but I love the way he's making the bushies of this world squirm!
I’m not going to trash Cruz on this, because he’s a fairly solid guy. I will say that Trump has proven that his voice is far louder than Cruz. In campaign mode, that is a must.
Would Cruz beat Hillary? I think so. It would depend on how he ran his campaign, and how loud a voice he was given by the media.
It’s almost impossible to shout down Trump. The media would be overwhelmed by him.
I laugh at that prospect.
Trump is troubling to say the least. I sure am getting a kick out of watching him trounce the usual suspects.

Oh I like Trump, and I think he’s right that he could beat Hitlery. But, he’s not the only one.
Agreed. Hitlery is a HORRIBLE candidate.
Outside of this forum, people are enthused about Trump. I have friends who aren’t particularly political and only know that “FreeRepublic” is that website I mention from time to time, but they like Trump. And those people also represent the segment of the electorate that win elections.
He’s a shoe in.

ordinary person: Umm, I guess conservative, in the middle maybe...
interviewer: Have you ever heard of FreeRepublic?
ordinary person: Not really, isn’t that..., no wait. Umm, no.
interviewer: What do you think about Donald Trump?
ordinary person: Oh, I think he’s great. He’s finally saying what people are thinking.

I have 3 sisters and 3 BIL.
3 have not voted in decades and 2 were Democrats.
All six in for Trump.
Truck driver, HVAC guy and Plumber are the BIL. Nurse, home maker and Attorney are the sisters.
Reagan Democrats.
I’m hearing the same thing from die-hard Demoncrats who are fed up with the Democrat-Socialist party and vow to NOT vote for Hillary., They are actually es cited about Trump.
Any good candidate would expose Hillary as very slow and not likeable.
