Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush on Wednesday seemed to propose a bold solution for economic troubles: People should work longer hours, drawing negative reactions from critics who suggested the last thing Americans need is to work more.
-snip-
Ted Cruzs campaign also chimed in, invoking the specter of Romneys infamous 47 percent remark:
It would seem to me that Gov Bush would want to avoid the kind of comments that led voters to believe that Governor Romney was out of touch with the economic struggles many Americans are facing, Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler said in a statment. The problem is not that Americans arent working hard enough. It is that the Washington cartel of career politicians, special interests and lobbyists have rigged the game against them.

Jebby is stupid beyond comprehension. He digs big holes to climb in.
That makes him a perfect fit for the GOP nomination
At what Jeb. My employer controls my hours, not me.
It would seem to me that Gov Bush would want to avoid the kind of comments that led voters to believe that Governor Romney was out of touch with the economic struggles many Americans are facing, Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler said in a statment.
That’s almost as stupid as what Jeb said. Almost. Romney isn’t running (at least not yet), and didn’t lose because he’s “out of touch with the economic struggles ...” I’d rather hear from Ted Cruz, and not this spokesman.
Actually, most of us older folks worked our regular 40 hour job and a second parttime job. That’s what Saturdays and Sundays were for.
As a nation, we americans work longer hours and have less paid vacation time than any other nation in the developed world (except for possibly Japan).
My suggestion to you Jebby Boy (or as I now shall call you “the aristocratic, entitled @$$4*!&” or AEA for short) is to STFU, and enjoy the trust fund you were born with. Oh and here is another thing - when I get to my deathbed, probably the last thing that will come out of my mouth is “You know, I really regret not spending more time at work.”
Feel free to offer yourself up so one of your CEO country club buddies gets another $.02 EPS this quarter. If you think its desirable for the help to work harder for his stock options to appreciate more in one day than 5 of his wage slaves make in one year, good on you. I’ll pass.
Looks like Jebby is becoming toast with each new passing day.
Romney was hatedbecause he was rich is what I heard from jealous lower income people I knew Silly I know but true
How many millions of Americans have lost hours having them reduced to 30 from 40?....that’s 25% of their income lost thanks to Obama care. Maybe they need to be able to get their hours back. Just sayin.
Jeb’s campaign is a train wreck in motion. Just how out of touch can he be?
Thank God Jeb’s talking!
“Did Rinse P. call Jeb on this and tell him to tone it down?”
Funny, I was about to say the SAME THING. Does Jeb also get a ONE HOUR call from Previous, now that Jeb is playing right into the hands of Democrats.
...or do we simply ignore that?
“Romney isnt running (at least not yet), and didnt lose because hes out of touch with the economic struggles ...”
I guess you don’t get it. Romney GOT KILLED with his 47% remark. There are certain things that are VERY STUPID to say and there are things are VERY STUPID to assume. In Romney’s case, it was stupid to say the 47% comment and it was VERY STUPID to think he could speak to a group of people and keep it private. He got DESTROYED over that remark right up to election day - our side may not have seen as much of it, but EVERYONE voting Democrat heard it over and over again.
Cruz is right to point out HOW STUPID it was for Jeb to make a similar comment.
Actually 29 hrs.
The cut off hours to avoid mandatory health care benefits.
That hit some of our local grocery store employees . Company cut their hours to avoid paying benefits.
Thank you Obamacare.
We are fast becoming a nation of part-time employees. The ones that have a job anyway.
I seem to remember a time, less than a generation ago, where a single bread-winner allowed the other to stay back and take care of the home, children and relatives....ALL while having enough for a home, car, vacations, savings, college...
IMO, Cruz doesn’t go far ENOUGH and point out the problem has been big-GOVT and the ever increasing cost to the productive class since 1900.
I’ll presume most, if not all, in the field will continue to wring their hands but offer no solutions.
Idiots like Bush should be working to improve job opportunities, not importing people who take our jobs, and sending manufacturing and jobs overseas.
Whatever it is he meant to say obviously got clouded over by what he actually did say.
Proof positive he’s not ready for prime time.
Can you imagine the laughter the Clinton’s had when they convinced the Bush Family to run with Jeb.
“Haw...haw...haw! 2016 is going to be a cakewalk!”
