Trading in all symbols was temporarily halted on the New York Stock Exchange floor Wednesday due to an apparent technical issue.
"NYSE/NYSE MKT has temporarily suspended trading in all symbols. Additional information will follow as soon as possible," the NYSE said in a statement on its status page.
A technical issue caused the trading halt, Reuters reported, citing a source. Trading stopped around 11:30 a.m. ET.

Logic Bomb snuck into the NYSE systems ala the Tom Clancy novel Debt of Honor?
We have enough muzzy sympathizing idiots in NY to try that one.
Considering the Chinese markets crashed big time last night....
No, Chinese stock market crash.
Curious how that happened shortly after Chinese hacked the pentagon, isn’t it?
According to cnbc, a router was responsible for UA’s troubles. I have a very difficult time believing that their network has a single piece of hardware that can bring down the entire network.
It seems rather odd doesn’t it.
Still down as well as WSJ.
About an hour ago I tried to pay a bill via electronic payment from our bank.
At first, and not a surprise, my HP Pavillion using IE couldn’t log on. Then, I had my first ever problems with my Chrome Browser, and I had to reboot my Chrome Browser on my old HP desktop.
Via my ‘new’ Chrome Browser, I got on line to our bank and sent the ‘check’. That, worked until I tried to print a copy after several failures. I had to reassign my HP printer to the Google Cloud to get a printout. Then, I got all 9 of previous attempts, including the one generated on my Chromebook which I’m using now.
So far FR seems secure.
That would be my bet. The NYSE was having issues in overnight trading, this morning's "glitch" aside.
Wall Street Journal, Time Warner, and some of the smaller hedge fund operators are impacted too, there are several DDOS attacks under way.
This is NOT a coincidence. Best bet is it's China but it could also be Iran. Last Summer Iranian hackers were VERY active.
I'm on vacation, waiting to get called back into the Bank I work at ......
Thanks. I’m sure you’re right. But don’t discount Zero taking advantage of this via Jade Helm. It starts sometime this month.
I have a very difficult time believing that their network has a single piece of hardware that can bring down the entire network.
Passenger ticketing, baggage and other "logistics" systems were down, they're finally back up and running.
Don’t know whether to take a shower or check on my TP stockpile. :)
How long is it going to take for it to be generally understood that the US and China are even now at real war with each other in the Cyber field. It can be just as deadly as nuclear war and the US stands to suffer most because the US existence depends on the power grid. China is not so far advanced and no yet wholly dependent on a power grid. If we lose that and can’t get it back in a week or so we get famine and population reduction in a big way.
Were all gonna die!!!!!
Can I break my diet and open that box of chocolates? ;-)
