In late due to working late; I've got a reverse schedule this week.
I'm off today though, the hot weather is finally going to mellow out into the 90's.
I've rented a small storage unit to move some of my "stuff" into, too much clutter around here.
I better refill the coffee cup and start my day.
Have a FRantastic Wednesday!
And as for this century, I have mostly been a practitioner of the Tenor [four-string] banjo. Which is not to necessarily say that I am especially good at it, or that I should play it.
Not necessarily. But it helps, especially if you're one in an AC-DC cover band....
Wow! Sounds like you’re darn good at it! Thanks for sharing your talent with us! :)
Ewwwwwwww! That's corny!
ROFL!!
awww, pretty
You are a natural leader. You have a very dominant and strong personality.
Working with others suits you. As long as you're in charge, that is!You are aggressive and strong in your approach to most things.
You feel like no one is as competent as you are, and you rarely make mistakes. The limelight is where you feel most comfortable - and you'll take risks to get some extra attention.
You definitely would bring your own flavor to any music you were a part of, even if it meant being a little loud and obnoxious.Your dominant personality characteristic: you're a showoff
Your secondary personality characteristic: you like to be in charge of other people.
We can add another trumpeteer to the brass section!
Woohoo!! Good ambition to be like that guy! He’s one of the best!...and still goin’ strong!
Yep. A group of buddies and I tried to start a similar band in the mid-60s while we were in Jr. High. Of course, it never took off. Dayton, OH wasn’t into that genre, yet.
Good for you that you tried! Did you do any real gigs?
Nope - 3 practice sessions did it for us!
Have never played a musical instrument. Only thing I can do is sing.
Playing in a band right now. Same guys I was with in the 90’s, after a move out of state for a few years we’re back together.
I play the guitars almost every day, haven’t played sax in a while, can’t use it much in a 3 piece band, things get really empty if I drop guitar. Started learning flute again a while back but haven’t really put a lot of concentration into it. I’ll never put guitar down, been playing since age 5. I’m pretty sure they’ll have to pry one from my cold, dead hands...or a gun, depends on how soon it all hits the fan...
Right now using 2 of the amps, generally use a dual amp rig onstage but still don’t have quite what I want, especially for exceptionally low volume gigs we’re playing. Cafe gigs require really low volume, Fender Champ does ok but really cheesy sounding due to 8 inch speaker. Super Reverb does great, clean as it gets but no raunch & roll, I have to use pedals. With it I’ve been running both channels, one bright one really full and less highs.
Now I’m trying out a Fender Pro JR but not much difference, can’t get the raunch & roll I want, too loud, and sounds pretty thin compared to the Super Reverb. 10 inch speaker is better than the 8 in the Champ, but still no banana...and my 12 inch extension cab for the Champ just doesn’t sound right, need to make another one.
Forgot to add this...

I’m the guy in the tie dye t shirt. I did both vocal parts in the verses, we all 3 did double parts in choruses, plus I added a 4th part, I did all guitars except 12 string acoustic, drums on a keyboard drum machine. Should have played drums myself, but didn’t know Alan had an electronic drum set at the time. Did on a couple of other songs but none of them posted online.

has some other recordings, a couple of originals and a cover of While We Cry by Kenny Wayne Shepperd. It was done in about 1995 with same band but I played everything except drums. Have 2 more done I’m not sure if I’m going to post or not...might redo one and post it, still undecided. Lot of work goes into that...we spent about 9 hours on Southern Cross, and that was the first time we had played together in 10 years, once through with an acoustic and started recording. A couple of glitches in the vocals where I was pushing my voice too hard and didn’t warm up enough...one sour note, we’re not sure if it was me or Shane....
You Should Play the Drums |
However, people may be surprised to know that you can focus your energy well. You are driven and engaged enough to be a great drummer... and you have the stamina to practice for hours. In fact, when you can channel your energy productively, it only increases! You are independent and spirited... but also consistent. You can definitely keep the beat. You work well in a group and contribute heartily - without needing to take the lead. Your dominant personality characteristic: your aggression Your secondary personality characteristic: your precision |
I do play the drums...in a blues band.
