If we elect Jeb Bush to be the nominee for the Republican Party, I will relentlessly and effectively push for a third party candidate in the general election.
This Republican primary will determine the fate of the party. There are millions of Republicans that see this time in our country as a turning point. We have a great opportunity to rally together clearly communicate our message to a generation that has never heard the truths and values that so wonderfully make up the conservative stance. Conservative policies work for everyone. They make life better for us all. However, the average American has never been given the opportunity to hear an honest presentation of our principles. I am 35 years old, been voting since I was 18, and have never been given the opportunity to vote for a conservative in the general election for president.
Party leadership and big doners have bought into the theory that if we simply elect someone in the middle, we will get everyone to the right of them and everyone in the middle, while the democrats are stuck with the far left. That is such a flawed simplistic campaign philosophy. The independents and middle voters are often moved by the passions and ferventcy of a candidate's supporters. The Republicans continue to elect candidates that generate no enthusiasm; therefore they fail to persuaded the middle. The conservatives have no passion, no ferventcy for a candidate who doesn't see why all of the conservative positions are crucial. It is not just about "social issues", it is not just about "economic issues", it is not just "foreign policy"; every issue is tied together. They are all related. They will all crumble as you allow one of them to slip away as we refuse to even give the American people an opportunity to hear a voice in descent of the left leaning media, education system, and the leftist politician. The American people have a natural bent towards conservatism. When given a fair presentation, they will more often than not choose values and freedom. If the country has shifted left, it is only because they have been hearing one side of the argument for decades now.
I for one am tired of the ineffective leadership of our party. I am not working for anyone's campaign, I don't work in politics, I am not a lobbyist, just a fed up conservative. And I view it as my pressing duty to make sure that I have the opportunity to vote for a conservative for president in 2016. If that means we have a third party, we split the vote, and the Democrats win... so be it. I know it would take a few election cycles before a conservative alternative to the Republican party would gain traction. But, at least a message would be heard. And my conscience would be at ease knowing that I am done compromising this country to death.
I still think there is hope in the Republican Party. I am not done with it yet. The average voters of the party are good and conservative. The money and power in the party has just been distracted and misled by the media and the insiders. They are detached from reality. If those in influential positions within the party would back conservatives that will communicate their message, not hide it, we will win.
I have never financially contributed to a presidential candidate before, I have never went door to door, or helped get people registered to vote. But if we elect a true conservative, someone like Ted Cruz, perhaps Ben Carson, or maybe with some strong convincing someone else, I will poor myself into their campaign. I will give financially, I will go to the nearest battle ground state and go door to door, I will give myself for this great country that is hurting and struggling so much. But, if we elect Jeb Bush, I will still give financially, I will still go door to door, but it will instead be against the Republican Party in favor of a conservative alternative third party.
Was it Reagan who said to vote for the most conservative candidate who has a chance of winning?
There, fixed it for you.
Get ready for Free Republics rabid resident liberals to tell you you hate America and love Hillary. Because they arent smart enough to do anything like think logically.
I see I was too late.
I’ll sign the petition.
I will never vote to abandon the rule of law.
I will never vote to surrender the country to fraudulently documented foreigners.
That’s what a vote for Jeb is.
(Regardless of who the Democrat is)
Battered Conservative Syndrome.
Next election, these I’ll-fall-on-the-sword-IF claimants will be back complaining of the next round of wannabes.
These are about as serious as the I’ll-move-to-__{fill in black with country of choice}__ claimants.
Battered Conservative Syndrome. It isn’t pretty. And it repeats every election cycle. The GOPelites know those conservatives have nowhere else to go. The GOPelites shrug them off as kids-throwing-tantrums.
Hillary would be the lesser evil.
Jebster has no chance of winning.
He is the designated loser like McCain and Romney.
The GOP could care less about the conservative vote. What would make anyone think they do?
.....And Mr. Trump SMELLS blood in the water.
There is very little daylight between Jeb and Hillary
" I think we should just go along with the LEFTIES.....except let me be in the catbird seat! "
In all due respect to you and your sentiments, the time to push for a third party was in 2008. By then it was well known what the Republican party was all about.
I and others tried to get something going, including attempting to personally contact those banished by the GOPe, such as Allen West, Sarah Palin, Herman Cain, and Michelle Bachmann. We reached out, or tried to reach out, to Mark Levin, Rush, and Michelle Malkin.
Nobody, up or down the line, including the rank-and-file Republican had an interest in ‘rocking the boat’. Much easier to stick your head in the sand and rationalize to ‘work within the party’.
Our only hope is that is one of the big girls or boys flips Rove the finger and ‘goes rogue’ so to speak. Then the tens of millions will follow. But it’s far too late to get it done from the bottom up.
Just my opinion. I’m always open to anything that will work.
That was before Reagan’s party reforms were systematically dismantled and the party went back to being crony elitists. Lesser of two evils only works for Leftist. When we vote lesser of two evils we undermine the foundation of conservatism.
I am not the creator of the petition by the way.
LOL - probably started by Hillary money...
Even Rush himself said that a Jeb-Hillary ticket makes perfect sense. The only question is who is on top (of the ticket)
I don’t think so...Hillary is a schooled Marxist...Bush is just a typical “Moderate” Republican. There is a difference.
“Was it Reagan who said to vote for the most conservative candidate who has a chance of winning?”
Voted for Bush I: RAISED MY TAXES AND LOST
Voted for Dole: LOST
Voted for Bush II: RAN DEFICITS TO MOON WITH COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATISM, NEVER FOUGHT BACK
Voted for McCain: EPIC LOST
Voted for Romney: EPIC LOST
Are you maybe seeing a trend here? Even a smidgeon?
A vote for Bush III is wasted, he will lose to Hillary running without the base.
If Bush is jammed down our throats, it is third party time.
