In all due respect to you and your sentiments, the time to push for a third party was in 2008. By then it was well known what the Republican party was all about.
I and others tried to get something going, including attempting to personally contact those banished by the GOPe, such as Allen West, Sarah Palin, Herman Cain, and Michelle Bachmann. We reached out, or tried to reach out, to Mark Levin, Rush, and Michelle Malkin.
Nobody, up or down the line, including the rank-and-file Republican had an interest in ‘rocking the boat’. Much easier to stick your head in the sand and rationalize to ‘work within the party’.
Our only hope is that is one of the big girls or boys flips Rove the finger and ‘goes rogue’ so to speak. Then the tens of millions will follow. But it’s far too late to get it done from the bottom up.
Just my opinion. I’m always open to anything that will work.
Normalcy bias is extremely powerful. The first thing conservatives need to do is convince their friends and relatives that the GOP is not representing them and have no intention of doing so.
