TRI-CITIES, WA. -- People are concerned about fireworks this Fourth of July. And not just locally, all over the Northwest. Governor Jay Inslee along with the Department of Natural Resources issued a burn ban for Washington but they wanted to do even more.

No matter where you are in the Northwest, fireworks will be especially dangerous this year. Both Washington Governor Jay inslee and Oregon Governor Kate Brown have issued warnings.

But regardless, fireworks stands have been open and selling in certain areas all week. So now they're urging extreme caution when using fireworks in cities and counties that legally allow them.

This nut-case, left-wing Governor believes in global warming/carbon pollution too and although not mentioned, this was another reason he wanted fireworks banned.

On Thursday Governor Inslee issued a statement saying his office looked into possibly banning fireworks state-wide. But his office discovered they didn't have the legal authority to do it.

Looks like he hasn't been paying attention to how the Obama Regime just ignores the rule of law and does whatever they please.

Maybe you might want to consider the fire danger.

There have been times in Colorado when fireworks and open flame of any kind have been banned While I don’t like restrictions on my liberty I agree with this one. There have been times it’s actually so dry it’s scary I back to aot of open space and don’t want to lose my house to some idiot with fireworks and no brain.....

It’s always dry here in Eastern Wa in July; common sense when using fireworks notwithstanding, it’s about control.

You know I always had fireworks as a kid in California, the safe and sane branded product and as a rule believe they are fine. But around me in Anaheim,CA I have neighbors that fire very large bottle rockets, Firecrackers and even mortars, I have concerns and I don’t live in a dry rural location! My biggest gripe though are the morons that just don’t know when to quit (3AM july 5th is not the Fourth) and the third worlders that think firing a gun in the air is a clever thing to do. Also being a dog owner I have great animosity to the drunks that continue lighting firecrackers.

Well it is pretty dry here so I can agree. But professional shows? Then too, the other ‘Rat-gov’ner banned fireworks because global warming, and also a ‘Rat-mayor of Seattle banned beach fires on Alki Point for same reason on the 4th.

Yea, but it’s OK to burn flags (Union or Confederate) on the 4th, right?

IIRC, that was a few Seattle mayors ago.

And he quickly rescinded the Alki Beach bonfire ban after all the local and national flack he got.

I live in Indy, most fireworks are legal here and have been for a very long time. However people get that mixed up with the “when” fireworks are legal. While you can buy fireworks anytime of the year, you can only set them off during certain times of the year up to a certain time of the day. So even on the legalness of fireworks there are limitations. It is sometimes wet and sometimes dry, this really wet as the ground is saturated. Even with that people still manage to light the dry spots on fire with their carelessness. A firecracker may not kill you but take it from the Three Digit Fireworks Company (as one of the local hots said over the extended weekend) “Be careful when you light your fireworks off this weekend.”

I have a better idea. Make fireworks legal everywhere across the state. Encourage the people to light fireworks in the driest, most flammable places possible. Then have the governor stand down every emergency service from responding to fire calls, but do arrest those that start them. Also, have the insurance companies not pay out any damages for losses due to fires.

The fires will do immense property damage and may take a few lives in the process. Then the governor can use the media to get on his soap box and blame the idiotic public for firing off fireworks in a drought with a high fire danger that all were aware of and STILL lit them off anyway. Then challenge the public to see if they can regulate themselves next year into not starting fires on next year’s 4th by not lighting them off.

Certain types of sexual activity and behaviour are not dangerous. In fact, they should be embraced and celebrated and taught to little children. To say otherwise is bigoted and evil. And you better not say anything.

Shooting off fireworks is dangerous. We should not allow it, because you dumb citizens don't know how to use matches.

WA. is another State that could be split into two states as the west side determines the laws for the east side. same as Calif. split it above Stockton. I know this is a pipe dream as the libs will just migrate as locus and destroy the rest of the state.

I didn't know you lived in my neighborhood, Mastador. You're lucky if they just fire them tonight. They start firing them off around here as soon as the firework stands open and will continue until they run out presumably in a few days. This process gets repeated at New Years.

It would be one thing to shoot them off if you have large piece of property, but this is a subdivision where the houses are ten feet apart. Last New Years some idiot knocked over their mortar & it went off in our front yard. It would've hit our house if we didn't have the tree out front. Like you said these aren't small ones, they're large mortars. I can't wait to move.

Those two governors along with our idiot Jerry Brown constitute the three biggest A-holes on the West Coast.
