A NASCAR spokesperson said the request would pertain to "overt displays" of the Confederate flag. If you're a fan wanting to bring in a 15-foot Confederate flag to fly on track property while at a race or are planning to use the symbol as a way to make a boisterous statement, you're likely going to be asked to not do so and possibly escorted out of the track premises.

NASCAR is still in business?
I stopped watching all sports (except Olympics) on or about 1993, and motorsports about 1995. Haven’t watched a single minute of anything since. Never missed it even once.
You’ll have to go to a museum, I guess. :-(
I hope a couple of people bring in a 10 foot flag with hands on the upper two corners giving the finger.
For all to see.
You know, advertizing a pickle anything in todays rainbow filter climate may not be such a good idea ;)
Sorry....I almost forgot this is 2015.
I only wish I could forget.
NASCAR also banned a driver who made an innocent comment - something about being concerned about Islam terrorists whenever flying. I forgot his exact words.
Grandstands at Sonoma Raceway last Sunday were about 80% full on turns 3, 4 and 7. I think many showed up to say good-bye to Jeff.
Watching the jets fly by, the huge American flag go by behind the pickup truck, and the Star Spangled Banner just didn’t move me the way they used to. Had a feeling of ennui and “it’s over - why bother?”
Your comment makes me feel good. Both my daughters know the basics. One blew an engine a couple days after buying a new battery. She removed the battery before scrapping the car.
Both girls had a flat. As they were getting ready to change it, some guy stopped and saved the m the trouble, but they knew how.
My son just started a summer job for a home remodeler who is a friend. The remodeler is very excited because my son can do basic stuff. The other day he framed installed and insulated a wall. I told my buddy that he’s helped me with all that stuff.
Another friend who is a realtor told me that in virtually every home he’s been in where the owner is under 40, one thing is missing. A toolbox.
I was at Home Depot yesterday. A pajama boy type was looking for drill bits and didn’t know if a Ryobi would fit in a DeWalt drill. I helped him out. He gets points for trying and even going into a Home Depot. It must have been scary
What a beautiful thought. I have no interest in racing, but it would be worth the admission price just to see that.
Oh really? So what if they do? Stop the race? Throw them out? Pat them down at the gate to see if they’re secretly hiding them to wave later?
Keep on losing fans. Genius. But hey, waste more resources on “diversifying” your “sport”
Alienating your true fans while trying to recruit people who don’t have a bit of interest. No wonder your numbers are way down.
See ya.
NASCAR surely has the worst public relations staff in the business. You can bet there will be more Confederate flags flying at NASCAR events for the rest of the year. And, God help anyone who tries to take them away.
NASCAR only knows how to turn Left.
I had a Go-Kart brand cart with a West Bend 2-stroke. I bought from a kid with more money than brains who couldn’t make it run right. I gave him $50 and it was running just fine in an hour or so. Funny what a difference the correct spark plug will make. My brother and I used to blend some fuel for it that would make your eyes burn.
1965, that was. I enjoyed the crap out of it all that summer until Uncle Sam decided I was having too much fun and needed an olive green wardrobe.
I think that the SCV is missing a bet here. They should be buying a shiiteload of CBF’s and handing them out outside the gates. Get ten thousand people waving the flag and then what are they going to say?
A good business venture would be to find out what flag people are wanting to burn and sell them.
The guy and the drill bit problem is sad. I bet a stepper bit would have blown his mind.
Seen a lot of lost faces in Lowe’s myself. I will tap google for specific information on tackling a new problem or product review sometimes.
No Bob Villa either but my carpentry and woodworking generally does the job but wouldn’t win any prizes. I don’t have to do much along those lines.
I fool with my ragged jeeps and old motorcycle.
True dat - you wold have your built-in repeat business model ;’)
