Authorities today released the identities of three people killed in two separate shootings just hours apart and on opposite ends of town Wednesday night.
In the first shooting, 15-year-old Shamar Polk was shot to death at a Pinson Valley Parkway gas station, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
Police said the shooting happened after he and his friends were approaching customers at the Jet Pep with the intention of carjacking a vehicle

These incidents highlight the dangers of a risky lifestyle, so we really need families and friends to do what they can to influence their loved ones who are making poor decisions.

I would say this for the city (having ridden in on Amtrak three years), there is a certain landscape aspect to the city. It looks like a city of 1968. There’s not any modern structures or fancy infrastructure like you’d see in Nashville or Memphis. The train station in town is just like it was in 1968....they’ve never renovated it. I think even the current paint scheme on it is a minimum of twenty-five years old.
And I would agree that the airport is actually one of the nicer airports in the south. Easy to get off the interstate and reach. Parking is simple. And some awful nice airport employees.
I am saying it is already beginning to happen. “Teen” is obsolete.

The question is, what to make of that?
Seems to me it’s a field that should be as open to discussion as any other. I do have qualms about the data being gamed, if it is though.
It does bring to light some of the issues the media simply refuses to cover these days. One video of Michelle Malkin’s was particularly good.

The data is from a few years ago and I would imagine that the curve overall has slid to the lower for all groups in the US.
I am not arguing that IQ is genetic, I believe that it is related to a culture if stupidity. Stupid parents don’t educate their children as well as intilligent parents do. With a median IQ near 80, (which is borderline retarded) it demonstrates that black culture as a whole is a squalid mess and should be shunned.
My problem, and I do think it is a problem, is that I begin to get very cautious when this issue is discussed.
I don’t necessarily agree or disagree with the graphic, because I just don’t know. Once again, it’s a by-product of our fear to address certain issues.
This is certainly a touchy issue, because it quantifies something that would be unfortunate if true. I would gain no pleasure from this if it were true. And it may be true.
I’m not here to say it is or it isn’t.
I will have to admit some things make more sense if this is true. I sure don’t like the implications, but then I don’t have to like them if they are fact based.
It this point the evidence of the failure of the black culture is everywhere.
I have taken a beating from some individuals here who refuse to accept the numbers as presented. The suggest some animus or hatred or how it’s been discredited. It has never been successfully refuted, only argued that it is racist and the individual refuses to accept it.
To me, I believe that the data is true as presented, and that it is a disgrace. It is a disgrace to us all that we have allowed these people to create their own subculture which has created an entire population of the incompetent.
When I see the “white privilege” business, this is what they are talking about. Median white IQ = 100. Median Black IQ = 81. That’s a startling statistic... 50% of the population of blacks has an IQ of 80 or below !!!
That’s why I tried to be mid-range on the subject. I don’t think it’s a given but I’m not saying it isn’t true either. It may in fact be.
I think it’s sad that we can’t discuss the matter even in White circles for fear of a racist backlash.
I do think we need to be careful of stats like this. I know there are some folks in the nation that would love to create a false impression, and that’s why.
None the less, if it is true, it is an amazing factoid that warrants attention and thought.
