U.S. presidential candidate and real estate mogul Donald Trump filed a $500 million lawsuit on Tuesday against Univision over the Spanish-language TV network's decision to end its contract to broadcast the Miss USA pageant, which is co-owned by Trump.
Univision said last week it would not air the July 12 pageant because of what it called insulting remarks about Mexican immigrants made by Trump when he announced he was running for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.
The 19-page lawsuit accuses Univision of a "thinly veiled attempt" to stifle Trump's freedom of speech in order to boost Democratic frontrunner Hilary Clinton. The network's principal owner, Haim Saban, is a Clinton fundraiser, according to the lawsuit.
He can't lose. Either the network caves or the case goes on forever, through the primaries. Trump has gauged how fed up real US citizens are with the invasion of the US, and the criminal element it brings into the US.
This is what I like about Trump. The network tried to show him up. He did something bold where whatever they do, he wins. And while it's happening, and everyone else is pandering, Trump wins over voters for not being a wimp.
I love the way Trump's mind works.
Trump said categorically on FNC that Univision had no rights of termination and has already mentioned settlement.
From your lips to God's ears.
lol...I hope he does.
May Trump recover treble damages, but I wonder what he will do with 1.5 billion in goats and chickens?
I am VERY MUCH starting to enjoy this election cycle!!!!! Trump is a street fighter with the VERY BEST attorneys, chew them up and spit them out,
GO TRUMP!!!!!!!
It is really sweet to see a corrupt, leftist network (there are so many) get a noose put around its berries and tightened. I hope he makes them pay big. A nice precedent that only he has the cajones and money to pursue.
Go Trump.
Hah hah! When Trump said that about Mexico paying for the wall I laughed. Come on, Donald, really? Who do you think will buy that?
Then he hatched his plan to make a Clinton money bundler and a network that caters to immigrants pay for his campaign. Hah hah! Okay, maybe he can do it!
Trump’s hand wins. He is running for president, discussing issues relevant to a political campaign. Cough up the money, Univision. They MIGHT have sued Trump FIRST for damages relative to the pageant and other programming (which would be a long shot anyway), but for them to have PUNISHED HIM by unilaterally terminating a contract.. THEY LOSE BIG TIME.
I CAN NOT wait to see the spectacular wall bought and paid for by Mexico it WILL happen I believe him the man is a pit bull!!!!!!!!
With two weeks to go they cancel a multi-million dollar contract?
SUE THEM but take it to another network- you will rake in millions more if you can get a FOX channel to air it
Trump may win big against Univision, but he is going to look petty and un-Presidential in the eyes of the majority of voters.
Trump was just on O’Reilly saying bigwigs from Univision have already called him off the record to say they know it was a wrong move and to apologize - Trump wasn’t appeased and in fact went on to talk about the fifty beautiful young women already in Louisiana, along with their families, who are waiting for the pageant and are “crushed” by Univision’s action - talk about a “War on Women” - fortunately Trump says he’s going to make the show go on anyhow and somehow I believe him....
They were hoping they could apologize their way out of this. That didn’t work either.
I think he’ll win big here.

I’ve heard nothing about Univision attempting to apologize. I said it before, and I say it again: You don’t piss off a guy who has $9 Billion. BTW, is he going to sue NBC?
Tagging this sucker
LOL! Hadn’t thought of it that way.
Well, he's got the DemoRat vote locked up!
Yikes! Somebody missed out on their butterscotch pudding today!
Oh yeah...I forgot...he’s the Donald!
Is he legit or just Ross Perot'ing us with his antics? There's time to establish where he fits at this point.
