Does your church ban gay marriage? Then it should start paying taxes.

It’s difficult to see how the nationwide legalization of gay marriage could have any kind of significant negative repercussions for anybody who’s not gay. Difficult – but not impossible. Because now that the US government formally recognizes marriage equality as a fundamental right, it really shouldn’t skew the tax code so as to give millions of dollars in tax breaks to groups which remain steadfastly bigoted on the subject.

I’m talking, of course, about churches.

I’m sure this clown is also going to insist that mosques host gay marriage as well????

Someone a few days ago posted an article describing a beautiful rooftop ceremony that ISIS held for 4 homosexuals.

I just do not think obama and his ilk have wrapped their ideological brains around the concept that even though the court demands that sodomy be legalized, a great many religions find the acts to be immoral, and this thinking dates back thousands of years and is hard wired into many humans who find it repulsive

It is unbelievable that Americans ever elected such a narcissist as this man who will brook no dissent with his own views and in fact is quick to personalize such as slights against himself - thus rendering dissent as an act to be despised and suppressed by whatever means he can get away with

Personally, I’d be all for getting rid of ALL tax exemption for EVERY tax exempt organization. Tax exemption is rotten to the core at this point.

Yup.

That's the way "tolerance" works in liberal-land.

If there is one thing a liberal can't stand, it's intolerance.

Do I detect a hint of liberalsim there? If so, you have fallen into the leftist socialist mind trap. You surely don’t believe that the government has a right to all that you earn right? A socialist government knows no limits on taxation. They would take 100 % of your income if they thought they could get away with it. The only reason they don’t is they fear it might cause their agents to start getting shot all the time but if they thought they could get away with it they would do it. Why? Because socialist governments have a collective mindset. They follow the queen bee’s orders without any thought process. They don’t realize that that they’re being manipulated to increase her storehouse and not theirs.

This isn’t a jab at you personally. This is just a suggestion that maybe you might want to reconsider that thought.

First, we need to change the language of the debate.

Church = House of Worship.

The first amendment freedom of religion is about ALL religions. The Left is trying to single out Christians with the use of the word "church."

They won't speak of mosques or synagogues, just churches. Synagogues might be the most open to performing gay weddings given the liberal nature of American Jews, but churches and mosques would not.

So we need to use expansive language that includes all religions. They either all receive first amendment protection or none of them do. There cannot be a bill of attainder that punishes only Christian churches.

Does your “church” believe in the global warming hoax? Then they should be taxed.

THAT ^^...

Also.....Does your church believe in Marxist Social Justice, or Liberation Theology? They should be taxed.

Their thoughts are being manipulated by government to demand this stupidity for the $$$$$ it will bring them. The AntiChrist vast wealth may well come fin part rom siphoning the money that will no longer be tax exempt from church organizations. I do think I detect a little irony there.

I would suggest that when the first gay marriage is performed in a Mosque then maybe it can be considered in a Christian Church. Please invite me to the beheading.

Well this was obvious. In reality, gays already had every benefit of marriage thanks to civil unions. But that wasn't sufficient because they didn't have a wedge to attack religion unless they had marriage. That's what SCOTUS gave them, a platform to attack religion.

Now suddenly they will all want big church weddings and the lawsuits will fly.

Was Nature “bigoted” when it selected Sex, the genetic exchange between Male and Female, and not the mutual masturbation selected for worship by homosexual Ubermensch wannabees?

Paying taxes will release the churches from the 501-3c chains that bind them from speaking about political matters from the pulpit.

Do the libs really want to go there?

So God is a bigot? God, and Jesus, are both full of bigotry and hatred? This is what they’re saying.

That's exactly where the argument needs to go. Instead you hear natural arguments about reproduction and human tradition. Those don't work.

a church could just not do any marriage services at all”

This is the option chosen by our church. Minister does not perform any weddings but he will do Bible based pre-marital counseling by arrangement. Deposit for use is very substantial, no weddings performed on Saturday, Sunday or Wednesday evenings and there is a huge list of “thou shalt not’s” contained within the contract. The church structure is relatively new and does not contain a center aisle on purpose so it does not lend itself well to such services. Very, very few takers for this purpose.

Ah, yes, taxation based on opinions and beliefs. That's not tyrannical at all! SMH

Genesis 2:24King James Version (KJV)

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Not so far fetched. Most weddings begin with this theme. Just expound on this theme in all weddings, throwing in a bit of the curses for defiling marriage as an admonition.

If churches pay a tax to a government for their existence, they are subject to that government. Exercise of religion should not be taxed; it is a moral hazard, because the government is supposed to be UNDER GOD. Churches should control government through the education and edification of their parishioners. This is reason for the attack on Christianity by the godless/apostate/heretical/sodomite left. They know who their enemy is.

We see the sad warning of Adams come true before our eyes. As the people continue to abandon God in their lives, so goes the dissolution of our culture and society. This is the desired outcome for the abominable elitists we are subject to.

We remember the profound warning which we have failed to heed:

We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.

The Constitution is destroyed, and is now used to persecute the moral and religious people that were formerly its creator.

Nothing will restore it, save a moral and religious people, and this we do not have at the present.

Yup. Not fun for the happy couple.

I predict that Churches will not be forced to perform gay marriages. Churches do not hold a monopoly on performing marriages. There is an another option — the Justice of the Peace.

If it came up before the Supreme Court, one of the issues that they would consider is if gays have other options for marriage. The answer is absolutely yes. So, a gay couple is not prevented from getting married since they can go to the local city office and be married that way.

So churches are not forced to perform gay marriages and a gay couple can still be married. Problem solved. No doubt there will be militant gays who will force the issue all the way up to the Supreme Court but I predict that it would be shot down.
