Mitch McConnell Hits A New Low As Kentucky Thinks Dead Col. Sanders Would Be A Better Senator

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is so unpopular in Kentucky that the state’s voters thought KFC’s Colonel Sanders would be a better senator that McConnell.

According to PPP, “In spite of KFC’s weak poll numbers Colonel Sanders remains a beloved figure, with 71% of voters seeing him favorably to only 8% with an unfavorable view. In fact they even think Colonel Sanders could be part of the solution to the problems in Washington- by a 47/27 spread voters in the state say they think Colonel Sanders would make for a better US Senator than Mitch McConnell. Too bad he’s dead.”

Kentucky voters would rather have a dead fried chicken magnate as their senator than the very much still alive Mitch McConnell. Sen. McConnell’s approval rating in the state continues to be dismal. Only 32% of Kentucky voters approval of McConnell’s job performance. Fifty-four percent disapprove. Republicans gave McConnell a slight 47%-37% approval advantage, but his approval rating with Democrats and Independents is in the 20s.

McConnell continues to prove that elections are often about who shows up to vote, not how unpopular a candidate is. Mitch McConnell is not popular in Kentucky by any measurement, but Republicans continue to hold their noses and vote for him because they believe that he is their only choice.

Kentucky’s voters have spoken, and they think that they would be better served by having a dead person represent them than they are by Mitch McConnell.

The reality is that Mitch McConnell isn’t a very good senator, and the fact that he is now losing in polls to dead people suggests that his current term should be his last.

Yeah, I know this is a liberal website, and I know the people of Kentucky JUST reelected him.

Nevertheless, any story that weakens McConnell is good for America!

There was a scene in one of the last episodes of “Band of Brothers”. IIRC they were sitting on a bridge over one of the Fuhrers autobahns watching the long line of surrendered German soldiers.

In it one of the soldiers looks at the horse drawn carts and says something to the effect of “Look at that......frigging horses.....what were you guys thinking?”

That's pretty much what I'm asking the constituents of Kentucky with respect to McConnell.

What were the idiots here thinking? HE TOLD THEM he intended to work with Obama if he got the Senate.

HE TOLD THEM and they becked him and said anyone that refused to support him hated America.

Right here. On a conservative site.

He and Boehner are bigger enemies to me than Obama. I think the GOPe must either be really stupid and complacent, confident that we’ll just pull that lever again for the second most evil, or they are going full-bore to get illegals and any other victim group on board by trying to make them think they can be “better” Democrats.

Either way, they have made a very serious miscalculation here. There is no circumstance under which I’d ever vote for Jeb Bush or a GOPe candidate. Second most evil is still evil.

TOO BAD MITCH: Kentucky voters would rather have a dead fried chicken magnate as their senator than the barely-alive Mitch McConnell.

OTOH---Hillary just swept The Disney Poll.

Hillary's even more popular than the Goof Troop.

There is one bird with 2 wings. Demonstratatbly, the GOp acts as a pressure relief valve for people like us. They promise X, we go rah rah and then they drop the subject to immeadiately pick a new one to repeat the process with, thus never doing anything FOR us while giving the illusion they are ‘working hard for the American people.

It keeps us out of the booth voting for people that WOULD do something for the American people.

And those that push the GOP lesser evil are a big part of why America died.

It also points out the problems inherent in the shift from a republic to a democracy. Idiots get to vote.

SNL comic Darrell Hammond is currently portraying Col Harlon Sanders of late. Perhaps he can primary McConnell ......in full colonel drag of course.

The Goof Troop is much cuter, and not as nasty.

The chance to get rid of him has passed. He’s in for six more years so why should he care?

Agreed. Obama is so obvious that it would've been almost too easy for honorable people to stop him. In their places we have people who deal with the devil.

It never could've happened if we didn't elect week and unprincipled people to office. In the HOR, they didn't have the integrity to stop Boehner from a second term as Speaker.

Gaffer, I'm close to physically sick from all that's happened the past week. The legal assault on religion has moved way forward. Symbols of pride in our history and culture are being taking down. There's a Supreme Court ruling that will make it impossible to stop blight from ruining every community in the US. The US is still being flooded by invaders even though it's accepted that ISIS is among them. Protestors can disrupt traffic and other movement of people and burn down cities and it's the police get charged for stopping it. The global economy could unravel, which means the elite will head for the hills to their safe havens. Russia defends faith; the US defends degenerates.

If this summer weather improves, chaos could happen as early as this summer.

In my wildest nightmares throughout my life, I’d have never imagined the depths to which this collective citizenry has fallen. Everything you say, and more, is completely true.

Our Constitutional Republic was fought for and won by freedom loving patriots. The framers of its Constitution were inspired by God, I believe. If there is a fault with it, the sole weakness of it is that its defense and execution depends on honest men and women.

It seems that the other side of evil has won. They control our courts, our legislatures, our Presidency, our Media, our entertainment and our social discourse. Even our children have come to believe fundamental socialist principles and ‘popular trends’. They have no idea about human greed, sloth and the realities of the human condition.

Frankly, I think this experiment is essentially done. It can’t revive itself - it doesn’t want to. They all just think their utopian views of the collective will endure if they just “don’t be hatin’”.

My only question now is whether it will become just another anarchy after one of many potentials for collapse happens or whether it will become just like another South American Dictatorship.

I have a lot of contacts in Kentucky, some of whom run in very influential circles. They say that McConnell is hugely unpopular in Kentucky, but that he is a master politician, and that the fix is in. They say that McConnell will stay until such time as his handlers turn on him.

The best case scenario (and it's not real terrific) is if the global and national structures crumble while there are still people around with the integrity and skills to create islands where civilization endures. Us older folk are going to have to contribute what we can and besides that be prepared for a very long ride.

I see a world just a few years out where travel is impossible, it'll only be safe to leave ones house for basic errands for very short safe periods of time, and where disruptions make it impossible to acquire basic needs. I honestly don't know where it's safe to move for tong-term potential. Might as well stay in place and have at least some assets if a move becomes necessary.

It's no longer reversible.

And ... stop and think of what that says about the majority of the gOp Senators who elected Mitch as their Majority 'leader'.
