A gay El Paso couple contacted ABC-7 to report an Upper Valley wedding venue that won't let them get married there.
The owner of Grace Gardens says she is exercising her religious freedom in denying same-sex marriages.
Here we go....
L
God help her. Close down ASAP and get out of town.
There has to be a nearby mosque, they should ask them.
Here come the Nazis ...
ping.
This is going get gooddd
All your wedding venues are belong to us.
This is no different than the bakery, the DJ, and the photographer. They’ll be sued.
Churches should be spared lawsuits as long as they merely hold ceremonies and do not issue marriage licenses.
The state has got their back.
The media, that is my usual next step when I am denied something I want.
the question is does el paso have any anti-gay discrimination laws? if not, then grace gardens is okay from the law. though they might face a gay mob boycott. if there are anti-discrimination laws, then grace gardens should offer to do the wedding with proceeds going to ted cruz’s campaign.
How tolerant of this “couple”.
Tattle to the media about the mean bullies who refuse to be bullied.
I would be tempted to go all Sons of Anarchy on them. But I won’t go there.
Its probably a set up . they didn’t just happen to go there and were unexpectedly outraged that someone would deny the premises for their homosexual wedding. I think they were told by someone to target this facility, so then they could invoke their mock outrage that someone could turn them down. Next call is to their Lambda Legal approved attorney.
Refer them to a mosque.
Yes, it reeks of activism. Pandora’s box has been opened.
Why would homos want to get married in El Paso? Isn’t there an ISIS camp just 8 miles south of El Paso, in Mexico?
Oh no doubt about it.
It’s like a drug for these perverts. The only thing keeping them going is the next fix.
They will go from very unhappy to suicidal once they don’t have anyone to complain about. So they will hit every church, bakery, photographer, etc. until there’s nothing left.
That’s why it is going to get so ugly and not better. They are the bullies and will NOT leave anyone who disagrees with them alone.
They like to live dangerously, in all senses of the word.
(b) The Fourteenth Amendment requires a State to license a marriage between two people of the same sex.
The state, not individuals. It also says::
(1) The fundamental liberties protected by the Fourteenth Amendments Due Process Clause extend to certain personal choices central to individual dignity and autonomy, including intimate choices defining personal identity and beliefs.
Isn't this woman an individual who requires autonomy for personal choices defining her identity and beliefs?
And, in their words, finally:
Finally, it must be emphasized that religions, and those who adhere to religious doctrines, may continue to advocate with utmost, sincere conviction that, by divine pre- cepts, same-sex marriage should not be condoned. The First Amendment ensures that religious organizations and persons are given proper protection as they seek to teach the principles that are so fulfilling and so central to their lives and faiths, and to their own deep aspirations to continue the family structure they have long revered.
