Speaking in the Rose Garden shortly after the Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage was announced, Obama stated that the progressives in society needs to help those with deeply held religious beliefs overcome their convictions.
Opposition in some cases has been based on sincere and deeply held beliefs, Obama said. All of us who welcome todays news should be mindful of that fact. Recognize different viewpoints. Revere our deep commitment to religious freedom.
Sometimes there are days like this when that slow and steady effort is rewarded with justice that arrives like a thunderbolt, Obama said. Although the progress might have seemed slow to gay rights advocates, he added, the nations shift on same-sex marriage has been so quick.
But today should also give us hope that on the many issues with which we grapple often painfully real change is possible, the President continued.

Well, Martin Luther King did what he did guided by his religious beliefs as to what was right. Now we see from Obama that it was all misguided. MLK should have just accepted life as it was and not caused a lot of upheaval based on Christian beliefs.
Obama, calling for the segregation and Jim Crow that his party created. Why am I not surprised?
I am older than this so-called ‘Obama’. I have never seen his paperwork of name change, so I don’t recognize it.
This man has just put his ever in the air nose into EVERYBODY’s alimentary canal, farther than he has, already.
It is NOT the business of the elected president, to openly tell the nation, that whom so ever does not believe as he, is in need of belief adjustment. That just shows that he is NOT the self-proclaimed Constitutional Scholar that he professes to be.
I have taken over 60 years to perfect my personal religious beliefs. I do NOT need, nor require, a cockamamie peacock mulatto younger than I, to attempt to tell me to change them.
As an American, it is MY right, to believe what I wish, how i wish, and when I wish, even unto death to preserve that right. I have already put my life on the line for the nation - pre-’Obama’, so I am exercising my right that i fought for.
Should this cockamamie mulatto who calls himself ‘Obama’ attempt to assert his desire for ‘belief adjustments’ upon the Amreican citizenry, in force, I am inclined to think that he might just lose some of his ambassadors of ‘good will’.
In over my 60 years of perfecting my beliefs, I have never seen a queer, as anything but a cancer. There! I said it. That is based on the evidence of ‘cause and effect’, not on some holy writ by somebody else interpreting an old manuscript, whereever it came from, and in whatever mother tongue it was inscribed.
I shall not yield to the whims of this cockamamie mulatto. That’s all they are, whims, without conviction, without basis, and all for the Pharisetical Peacock Practice, before the TV camera.
I belong to no organization claiming a 503c. I belong to no church body of record, but i know that i am not alone in my beliefs and convictions.
To those who nod their heads at my words, a ring of fire around them.
To ‘him’, a Scrooge visitation by night, and an egregore by day, till he vacates The Peoples’ House.
What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?
Obama to God: “Could you just change some of the words you have about homosexuality? I mean, look how easy it’s been for me to change the US!”
remove stigma from gays (they have many other disorders to be stigmatized about anyways) and add stigma on Christians and other invented mental illnesses so the state can control all with the word “hate” or “phobia”
There is probably a reason why indian tribes called them spirits and not illnesses... much more peaceful
besides, forcing love on others through voodoo filters or greek spells is evil. You do not force enslave people to love threatening them with sickness.
but Obama loves shariah and thus love the gay aytollahs, a truly sick in the head evil narcissist and perv
Been using this as a tag for several years
The filmmakers were looking through old photobooks they found at the camps and they had pictures of the visiting commandantes, who all had huge toothy grins like that guy.
The only other place Ive seen a grin like that is on Obama.
Chills...that pic is of the then younger Pol Pot. That is Pol Pot himself.
Pol Pot outlawed religion during his reign of brutality. He wanted to erase people’s conscience so he could mold it to his own twisted making.
Changing Tagline.

Why would the president of the United states talk about “ helping people to overcome their religious beliefs?”
Is he finally addressing Muslim extremism?
They have done a pretty good job persuading Americans to follow man’s way for many years. Abortion is an option. Swallowing poison or injecting it is regularly accepted as a good thing for women because it helps allow women to work and bring in more money to the family budget. Homosexual behavior is just another way of limiting the population. Global warming problem solved. Aren’t we geniuses?
My email to the president this morning via whitehouse.gov:
I applaud the President in his remarks that we need to “help people overcome their religious beliefs.” The growing extremism displayed by Muslim extremists world wide is a grave concern. With beheading and other forms of murder, oppression of women, stifling of education, suppression of truth, shunning technology, the list goes on. These extremist Muslim radicals are perverting their own Koran by murdering and suicide bombing. Sura 3, Imram’s Family (3.139), “It is not for any soul to die, save by God’s permission written down for an appointed time.”
They also boast of wanting to take over the world for Islam. This declaration and all the other unacceptable beliefs of the radical Islamists are declared in the name of religion. This is unacceptable and flies in the face of the Presidents very words. I stand behind him in our need to “help people overcome their religious beliefs.” How may I help in this regard?
