[history]
Heres a video of the explosion of the unmanned Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon capsule:
Here
UPDATE: The SpaceX rocket seems to have broken apart entirely in what looks like a major mission failure. During the feed, the rocket start smoking and then appeared to come apart altogether about a minute or more into launch. The resupply mission was thankfully unmanned.

The word
nominal has several meanings in the English language. With respect to spaceflight, the word "nominal" has come to mean "within acceptable range" or "within prescribed limits ranging from acceptable to perfect.".
More specifically, crew-cutted NASA folk in white shirts and black narrow ties from the Space Center in Houston started using that term back in the 1960s and it sort of caught on from there.
Check out the below image from an America that will never be again. Some of us are old enough to remember watching space flights on the TV - which in those days was a black and white TV that you had to slap on the side every now and then or fiddle with the horizontal and vertical hold controls so your picture stayed on the screen.

Have you ever seen documentaries of NASA’s early attempts?

I believed this is the third attempt at ISS resupply this year. One Russian attempt failed, and this would be the second US effort. They better start conserving snacks up there!

There was an overpressure event in the upper stage liquid oxygen tank. Data suggests counterintuitive cause.

Yeah, don’t know how many software bugs I’ve fixed that seemed that way - at first.

[ So much for crony capitalism in space...
Of course, NASA was an even larger crony system...... ]
Did they let the NASA guys fiddle with it, just a wild mass guess here...
They could have been doing some “Union Negotiation” with the rocket

Earlier this year, I bought a book at the ARC store for about 2 bucks. It was ‘Failure Is Not An Option’, by Gene Kranz. Only when I got it home and started to read it did I notice the autograph plate inside. Yep, a signed edition! Very good book.
