SEEK TO KNOW GOD BETTER
[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly]. Philippians 3:10
This was the cry of the apostle Pauls heart as he sought to have such a deep relationship with Christ that the trials of life would barely be noticeable.
At the beginning of this new year, it is a wise thing for you to seek also. There are plenty of problems in life that can weigh you down and cause you to become discouraged, but God wants to provide the strength and power you need to be victorious in every battle of life. Such a relationship requires that you seek God like never before. So start this year right by becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with the One who has all power in heaven and earth. A Blessed Lord’s Day to the MacNessa family.
How are the renovations coming along?
To: Kathy in Alaska
No harm...just WET.
But I had already soaked my clothes through with sweat (setting up) so it was rather REFRESHING!

Thank you very much, Kathy!
We made some progress on the wainscoting yesterday, but I injured my back doing the work. After declaring victory for the day, we went out for our Anniversary Dinner - it was absolutely splendid. I had Shrimp Marinara Fra Diavalo and Mrs. MacNessa had Tortellini Pesce - tricolor tortellini, shrimp and sea scallops in a creamy sauce. The scallops were the best I can recall ever having. We had an after-dinner cordial - Limoncello - which was new to both of us.
Today I can barely stand up. I did not get to Mass, or anywhere else for that matter. We did only a small amount of work - installed one batten and replaced a floor tile. We will be able to do more work on the wainscoting during the week. We hope to have the foyer finished by Friday.

WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
"CONGRESS SHALL MAKE no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exer- cise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
OUR FOUNDING FATHERS secured this Essential Freedom against overwhelming odds through great adversity, securing it first with the blood of our Patriots shed in the War of the Revolution, then through the course of intense and extended debate, leading finally to the adoption of the Bill of Rights.
THIS CHERISHED FREEDOM is under attack now, not only by the media, not only by academia, but by the Executive Branch of the United States Government itself. The President, the Departments of Justice and State, and the Internal Revenue Service, have all abdicated their sworn duty to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. They have instead, with full knowledge of the enormity of their acts, systematically betrayed the American People in repeated transgressions, malfeasances, and usurpations, and in so doing have emerged as our foremost domestic enemy in what will be the defining Constitutional struggle of our times, perhaps of our National History.
WE ARE CALLED at this crucial moment to bear Witness to the Truth of God, to uphold and to defend this vital, First Freedom and all Freedoms that derive from it. Without Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press, Freedom of Association, and the Right to Petition our Government for redress of grievances, would there remain any substantive Freedoms for us to enjoy?

That is a graphic I have not posted in several months. After the abominable Supreme Court decision handed down Friday, I felt it mandatory to post again. I am not sanguine at this juncture with respect to our coming generations' enjoyment of our God-given Freedoms.
This thing arising among us is alien to the principles on which our Nation was founded, for which many of us have fought, willingly and unreservedly, and for which our Brothers and Sister now fight with grace, skill and valor.
All I can do at this late time in my life is to proclaim what I believe to be good and true in the United States of America, to bear Witness to the Truth of God, and to pray for the preservation of our Nation and for the safety and success of the brave men and women who stand up for it on the filed of battle.

Starting at the top, our Constitution has been trashed.
I pray for my country.
